Great deal on a ZL1 but not fond of the color
There is a new red 2013 ZL1 vert at a local dealer that I can get out the door for around 22K with my trade. The deal is great! Problem is I am not a big fan of red, been looking at it for close to 2 months with the deal getting better over time as they look to move it. Most other colors I would have pulled the trigger by now.
I am still considering it but not sure if I could ever grow to love it and might regret buying it. My wife said if I really wanted it the deal would be done by now, I tend to agree. What would you do? Buy and hope you grow to love it? Or let it go and wait and see if another deal comes along? Let me add I not dying to upgrade to a ZL1 but when a deal comes along it makes it hard not to want to. Any advice and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Buy it, you'll love the color by the time you're home, and you will be PM'ing me a "thanks Joe"

Just put 10k into your car now. Then it will be faster than the ZL1 and you will be happy with the color.

I could handle the red, but not the top.
No help from me here. I do agree with your wife, if you had any inclination, you wouldn't be on here asking.

I think you would really like the red on a ZL1. There are other exterior features that break up the red as compared to the SS or V6.

I also am not fond of the red, although I think it looks cool, it's not one of my first picks for myself..
I wouldn't do it if you are on the fence. May turn out to be a very poor decision and you will end up kicking yourself for trading in your current Camaro with an extra loan. To me, you should feel the same way when you bought your current Camaro, when upgrading. (I'm a bit impartial to convertibles also... Don't like the look when the top is up, although it looks great when it is down.)

I'll say get it and have it wrapped in the color you want because that's a great deal. Color should be the last concern because their are so many options for changing the color.

It's funny so many are mentioning the top, that's the part my wife does not care for the most. She said it only looks good on dark colored cars.

NEVER settle. You will always have that nagging bug in the back of your mind telling you you aren't happy with it. If it isn't exactly how you want, wait or open your shopping area to somewhere you can drive or fly to, and take the car back with you. I know this is not the best price in the world for a 1 year old ZL1. Keep looking! The perfect car will be out there.

Not a fan of covertable ZL1s.. I think you can do better. IMO
But if you do get it, I expect permagrin. Also, why not supercharge the SS? |

That's what I was going to suggest, have it wrapped, I think 3m warranties his material for 5 years.
