I do not like the domed plastic cover that comes with our Camaros equipped with Automatic transmissions, so after I saw what another Camaro5 Member did by replacing the plastic dome with a leather shift boot from a manual transmission car I did the same. I ordered a leather ZL1 gear shift boot for my 2010 2LT/RS and swapped out the plastic POS for the leather shifting boot and the results I am very happy with and it looks a hell of a lot better.

Check Camaro collection or chevy mall, they got some nice looking aftermarket shifters for the automatic. I got mine from there.

I like the Hurst plate, but I really don't care for the Hurst gear shift handle. I was thinking of getting the Hurst plate but then getting the chrome gear shift lever from shopchevyparts.com. The part number is DFXCC-1014 and IMO I think it looks a lot nicer. If you do a search here you will find a picture of this combination. Just something else for you to think about.

Hows this? I have the Hurst auto shifter and it did nothing to the way the transmission performed, its a handle. One that I needed to finish machining to get it installed at that. I had to mill almost another 1/4 inch of the bottom before the screw lined up. It also didn't function smoothly and I had to take it apart and clearance some of the interior as well. Mine must have been the last one before they reset the C&C because the tolerances were way out of whack. After I finished remaking it I'm happy, but for the price I should have had to do that. Again, it does nothing to the shifts, the guts are still factory.

Now what did make it shift better was Frosty's transmission tune.

I like the hurst shifter plate. I just used my factory shifter and just switched out the cheap plastic plate. It's nice high grade metal, so it will be a major improvement over what you have stock. Check it out.

Very Nice Combination. Picture is great. Hurst should use that picture to advertise that Plate.

I just ordered the Hurst plate from eBay for $160. (same price on Amazon). I like Spike III's configuration (Hurst plate with Drake shifter) - mine will be the same.

There's this one. It's kind of plain looking though.

Who makes it? Too bad it does not have the gear select window though.
I would have to paint the cover a contrasting color or put carbon fiber over it.

This one looks like a POS. Make it look like the gear shift in a 1969 Camaro, wood grain, gear indicator, and flat. There is no reason for having the POS dome look.

That's hot!
Will it fit on a manual?
