Very smart move. This will be great for marketing. 30MPG and 312HP.

For those worried about taking a small performance hit for that 1MPG, keep in mind that the LS package is targeted at the more thrifty car buyer that wants something sporty. 30mpg will be a bigger selling point to them than an extra 1-2 tenths in the 1/4mi.

Doesn't $24,700 MSRP put the price higher than a 1LT with an auto?
What you're paying for is the lower gears and spoiler, but hey, if you want that extra MPG, I guess it's an early trade-off.

I know you can't please everyone, but it is something to think about.
sell ur spoiler make some $ back, however i feel the spoilers a must car looks naked w.o it

Camaro LS with automatic transmission is now designated 2LS.

2LS package includes rear spoiler, 2.92 rear axle ratio, and standard LS steel wheels.

2LS model achieves 30 MPG highway.

MSRP: $24,700.

1LS cars will be available only with manual transmission.

Does this make a 1LS with auto trans and no rear spoiler RARE??? SSWEET LOL

I completely understand why GM would do this but are they trading off performance for fuel economy? Isn't that was the Cruze is for?
Slower out of the hole for sure, but lower rpms at higher speeds. I don't think Chevrolet is worried about off the line performance taking a bit of a hit compared to boasting about 30 mpg's in todays society.
