I could *maybe* live with the tail lights, but the hueg wing mirrors just ruin the look :(

I'm not sure where the assumption that special modified safety features came from but it is false...
When I said foreign revisions, I wasn't just referring to Europe. These cars are marketed all over the world. There are a lot of places around the world that do require revisions to be made to meet set safety standards. Previous generations had revised lights and mirrors. No assumptions here so don't say that; the fourth generation(93-02) is a perfect example. People went crazy for export tail-lights, and there are plenty of pictures on the web of cars with side markers on the fenders, folding mirrors, and extra lighting/reflectors in the rear bumper cover.

I'm sure the car with the odd tail lights is just the export version car. Not quite sure why they would be testing those cars other than for Quality assurance since they all seem to be standard production cars.

Ah, gotcha... I guess I was the one doing the assuming. I figured since GM had its sights set directly on selling the Camaro in Europe, that's what the accommodations were fitted for.

It's okay, I like to troll Mustang forums and post sarcastic replies when I have nothing better to say to. Have a good day.

On topic... I like the idea of an LED tail light and don't know why these cars don't come with them already, but I do think the current housing looks better.

Um.... I wasn't being sarcastic, I actually assumed that the changes made were for Europe based on the recent picture of the car in Germany. I also was explaining why I thought that was the case and the "Ahh, gotcha" was because it never occurred to me that the car may have been prepped for somewhere other than Europe ie the Middle East. It is commonly talked over that these minor changes were in fact changes being made for Europe, I have never read that the Camaro was being marketed anywhere else other than the sand. Regardless if you were assuming that or not, I was pointing out that it was me in fact that assumed incorrectly, and I never directed the comment towards you at all, it was a general statement and had no idea that you even commented.

Well, then my apologies for coming across the way I did, misunderstood your posts. Looking back at the picture now, I see the km on the road sign in the background. Do you see many Camaros in your area?

I would assume that this is an "older" group of cars. It seems the convertibles didn't have the spoilers with the fm antenna. They had the trunk mounted antenna and from looking at how hideous that addition would have been, thank goodness for the extra effort to hide the fm antenna in the rear spoiler.

The Kaiserslauthern area has 52,000 US military and DoD civilians that live here. There are quite a few 3rd and 4th gens here, there are about a dozen 5th gens in the area.. One of camaro5 members lives in this area... High performance cars are plentiful here and there is a large following of almost every type of enthusiast.

I re-read my post and I can see where it could have been misinterpreted, no worries man...

Horrible idea indeed GM....... Leave the sunglass wearing to the drivers, not our beloved 5th Gens. Wondered if anyone else was gonna catch the coupe that was missing the shark fin? lol

As to the twin White "whip" antenna convertibles. This will be the antenna on non-RS LT's. SS's & RS LT's will be getting the "spoiler" AM/FM antenna with XM "Shark Fin."

From the convertible specs thread.

The OnStar/XM/AM-FM radio antenna moves to the deck lid on LT models without the RS package
The radio antenna is embedded in the rear spoiler on RS-equipped LT and SS models

Because the combined OnStar/XM/AM-FM radio antenna is mounted on the roof of coupe models, it had to be relocated on the convertible. On RS-equipped LT models and SS models, which include a rear spoiler, a small “shark fin” OnStar/XM antenna is mounted on the deck lid, while the AM/FM radio antenna is hidden inside the rear spoiler. This patent-pending design creates a sleeker appearance.
For LT models without a rear spoiler (without the RS package), the combined antenna is located in the center of the deck lid.
