Sure, the OEM factory colour was more "yellow" back then, for sure below the 4000K range, but within the first few years of introduction, the aftermarket was all over this with higher Kelvin rating applications as bolt in swaps.

In essence, the Bimmer owner was the first at this game with their Angel Eyes , just not the OEM, in higher K rating alone, as you indeed stated.
