I really wanted a Gen 5, but I mean who cannot be interested in what the Gen 6 may have coming? I just worry, GM is amazing at screwing up a good thing, but maybe they will surprise me this time.

Taking forever for a redesign is the mistake GM made in the past. Second gen ran twelve years, third gen ran eleven, and forth ran ten years.

Yes but not nearly as amazing to look at!

I won't be trading in my 2011 but I'm looking forward to being tempted. I just paid it off 6 months ago, my plates don't cost much at this point, and most of all I only have 18k on my car. Hell it's just broke in!! LOL!!

Actually I feel the opposite. Its time that the camaro gets updated. If Chevy runs the current design longer then it will end up becoming dated, and ultimately it will lose respect in the industry. I feel that this very same trait (of running a design for an extended period) is part of the reason why the 4th gen camaro got into trouble late in its run.

GM is fiercely engaged in the performance war. It's a never-ending conflict executed through advanced engineering from the factory. In order to keep winning, the Camaro must use every feature to its advantage. Unlike a conventional war where all weapons are not acceptable, engineered vehicles must use every available asset in order to compete, and Zeta is actually limiting the maximum possible performance of a Camaro. By switching to Alpha in 2016, Chevrolet will make use of significant weight reduction, as well as the highly anticipated though unconfirmed LT1 Camaro SS, which we expect to boast significant power gains over the LS3/L99. The next Camaro will bring a new design to the old soul of Camaro, adding intrigue and reflecting Chevrolet's commitment to the Camaro brand going into the future.

I have the opposite feeling as well. I wish they were releasing it this year! I want a muscle car myself and I have no idea what to do. It's either pick up an SRT8 Challenger and just ride that into the sunset for quite a while or wait for the 2016 Camaro. Another option would be finding a good deal on a current SS and trade it in for the 2016 when they come about.

Was thinking of possibly picking up the Mustang, but I think GM will put out a better and a more reliable product. They have been doing great with their recent performance models.

With regards to their performance line...I think the days of screwing it up are over. If they do...I'll be shopping for a used zl1.

For some reason , my gut feeling is saying that 16 year model will be
one off those that will just hit that big tall metal post at the end in between fair and fair ball
One never knows to where it is going to bounce

My hope is camaro essence styling...but more so better engineering...7 speed DCT, weight reduction, better handling, better mpg...MORE POWER.

That is what I'm waiting for...As long as they don't go backwards, I'm in.

Love the vette, but need more than two seats.

That would still be a home run. The foul pole is in fair territory.

I have to ask, does anyone here find the 69 Camaro or the 70 1/2 split bumper stale?

To say the 5th gen is getting stale is ridiculous!! These cars are the best looking Camaros since the 69 and 70 1/2 IMO.

The only ones that will be stale are the ones not being taken care of..

I'm not saying the 5th gen doesn't need to end, because it does, it is time, and I'm sure they have something that will be Kick Ass!! No way will they let the 6th gen be a flop, not with the crew they have working for them..

We are talking about a crew that just gave us:
LS's
LT's with and without RS
SS's with and without RS
1LE
ZL1
COPO
Z/28

With all that hard work do any of you think they will let that flame die out at this point? Especially with the Alpha? No way in hell. They know exactly what they are doing and I'm sure have been working on it for a couple years now..
