I wouldn't stripe my own car, but they can and do look smokin hot on some colors. If you like it, that's all that matters.

Painted is absolutely a thousand times better. It is a shame they don't seem to do that anymore. Back in the day, if your car came with any kind of stripes from the factory, it was part of the paint job. Now even from the factory you get vinyl.

Agreed. The stripes just feel like stickers to me. They feel cheap. I had a 1LE with the vinyl hood wrap, it looks cool from a distance but when you get up close you see it is just some vinyl wrap that requires extra care and maintenance. Painted is much better.

I agree, paint is definitely better and personally...I like the stripes.

I have factory vinyl metallic black stripes on white. After awhile the cutouts around hood vents started to bother me. Never owned a car with stripes before. After 4 months, I'd rather not have them or would rather have them painted on. I always tape the edges off whenever polish/seal/wax, because I know they'll show build up on edges...PITA.

Personally, having grown up during the 60's and 70's, I like the rally stripes. I do wish they were painted on though and plan on having that done at some point but the vinyl looks ok. Go with stripes. They make the SS look like an SS.

Never had a problem with wax build up along the stripes. It's not an issue.

I never have either.
I do need a black pick guard for my Strat though.

I gotta say yess to stripes...

for Hyper Blue without black wheels, it think some stripes like these would look clean and amazing!

I'm a fan of the White on Blue. It flows real nice with the white interior accents too.

I haven't done much in the way of detailing with my car yet. But my plan is to tape the edges of the stripes when polishing the paint. The stripes have a gloss to them, so i'll probably hit them with a paint sealant and wax.
