Jenny Craig Special lose 35lbs for less than $10 a lb!

I couldn't stand it anymore knowing in the trunk of my car there's 46 lbs of
lead perched in the wheel well aft of the rear axle that I decided to purchase
this lithium battery off ebay. Paid $300.99 for it, but after some mix up
during shipping the vendor knocked $15 bucks off, so that was nice of them.

The description did mention for automotive use, but after unboxing the item
I was a little surprised to read "No use Lead-Acid Battery Charger".
Oh well, went a head and installed it anyways. It seems most of my posts
document how and when I may have voided warranty. It's only been week
since the install and all seems well, which is great news as I want to relocate
the battery to the backseat area where I can keep on eye on things. I don't
want to go through with that song and dance unless this battery is going to
work out. So for now it's strapped down with a bungee cord.

Between this and the muffler delete made a significant improvement
in the cars ability to transition from one corner into the next. For me it
makes the car that much more fun to drive.

Noice.

Let us know how it holds up. Any spec on cold cranking amps?

I'm sure someone can make an inline charge adapter optimized for li-po chemistry. Kind of scary they mention not to use a lead acid battery charger, which is, well, the car.

English was clearly a second language for whoever designed that label . . .

I'd be paranoid about it catching on fire given it is not designed for automotive use and given that regular fire fighting services don't have proper tools to put out such fires. At least yet. Just my opinion in case your desire to save a few LB turns into an unstoppable iferno. A few of them on YouTube if you're curious to see one, plus FAA is considering banning all lithium batteries on planes. Yes I know EVs use them and some YouTube vids of what happens when they catch on fire as well.
Just saying...

now, 35 lbs off my fat ass, that would be something to get excited about. But a 4000 turd with a rocket engine? I dunno bout that.

JK. Good idea for sure. I think. "No use lead battery charge or you blow up"

The odyesee's seem to be good options as well. I thing the 925 saves significant weight and it's an ADM.

Interesting.

How much weight do you save from the muffler delete?
Any highway cruising drone?

I'm a little concered as well about the charge warning. Just to be clear I was
led to believe it was for "automotive use" as their Ad had me think it was.
Since the original posting I've sent an email for clarification about using the
vehicle's charging system.

I wouldn't trust that battery for a mirad of reasons.

An Odyssey or other proven HD battery yes, but no Chinese "flip of the coin" fire starter is worth the chance.

The correct way to do this is to disconnect the LiPo battery nightly, use the correct pulsed charger until full, then reinstall. I also would watch the amp draw and voltage during the summer months or when the battery is running at a deficiency,

Good luck

There are U.S. SAE Standards for Automotive Batteries for a reason

http://www.sae.org/standardsdev/vehi...rification.htm

http://standards.sae.org/wip/j3012/

But the OP's Battery is not SAE certified.

SAE has been working on updating J537(?) the section concerning Storage Batteries(Automotive)

Here's what was happening back in 2010

Thanks for the reference material Mr. P/H and I've included the idea of a
battery disconnect in the design for relocating the battery.
