They’re legal in 40 states.

The value of radar detectors has been diminished in recent years thanks to Waze. Additionally, with more districts rolling out laser detection devices, which respond at the speed of light, quicker than radar detectors, the price/value proposition has been compromised.

A good radar detector (Valentine One, Beltronics Redline/Magnum, etc.) will cost you but it more than pays for itself if an alert saves you from a ticket. Mostly they’re used to alert you to break speed ahead of time as opposed to saving you once you’re tagged.

I’ve adopted the approach of simply reducing speed as opposed to relying on a radar detector over the years.

If you’re buzzed doing 100mph it doesn’t matter which radar detector or laser jamming system you have.

We are using the apps and the navigation data as (POI) for the fixed speed cameras. You can also use the position of the mobile speed cameras to create a POI. The possession of those camera detections is legal but the usage is illegal.

That's been my MO so far. Just leave it clean, but I am considering switching out my RS decklid spoiler for a blade spoiler. Sportier rear end look without cluttering up the look.

I'm not doing any major mods. Just changing out the brake pads because I don't track it and hate the dust. Other than that, just my zl1 add-ons rock guards and a mishimoto catch can.
