I'd pay 1800 for PDR and navigation.. They need to offer it.

Have you seen what PDR offers? No BT data logger or Android app will come close to offering the same detail and presentation.

Agree, makes nav worth having over Android Auto/CarPlay as nav.

Android app may be cheaper but can't imagine how it could show and record some of the data captured with PDR like engine RPMs, steering angle, gear, % accelerator bar display, and % brake bar display.

I'm thinking of waiting for the 2017, it could come with this feature (PDR) i don't want to struggle like with the 2010 making upgrades like when I put the mylink and HUD. i don't know why GM does this to the camaro they already have the software and hardware to add to the car. GM has always been one step behind in these types of stuff in comparison of Ford and Dodge.
1,800 dollars is much cheaper than trying to make it yourself lesson learned

So even if it has this PDR system. Does it only record lap times or can you record 1/4 mile and 0-60?

Will something like this be available?

If not that's kind of a let down. Others have had this for a couple years. I don't want to have to go to a track every time I feel like testing my car and or parts to track gains. And from what I've read the systems in some other vehicles are pretty accurate. Would be nice to find a country road run it...do the mods...and run it again....not always driving to the track.

13:48 mark

It's essentially a dash cam - you overlay the performance and track data.

Would love to agree with you on this one, but Android Auto won't be available on the 8" MyLink radios for the initial shipments. Since they say it works on the 7" MyLink models, there is probably some hardware driver issue that they are trying to nail down in Android. The promise is that once it is working, there will be a software update for early deliveries.

And GM/MyLink won't allow Android Auto to access telemetry data, so you would still need to install an ODB2 bluetooth module to provide stats to such a setup -- if Torque or whomever updates their software for Android Auto.

Since the 6th gen won't be at dealers until Oct/Nov, think chances are good the 8" units will have support by then. Most likely scaling issues with software and not anything hardware related going up from 7 to 8.

And don't count on Torque getting approved soon the way Apple and Android are going with approving apps to the list.

That would be nice, but I keep hearing later '16 before Android Auto will work in the Camaro, assuming a software update will be needed for the 8" units.

Cant remember where I read it, but it is hardware related. 7" and 8" system suppliers are different. Different hardware, etc... Chips, and so on... Hence the delay...

That would still be software issues, sonce they aren't going to add new hardware to make the 8" compatible. Just develop drivers for the difference in hardware between 7 and 8.
