Need help deciding turbo 4 or v6?
I probably won't be getting one right away, but I would like to know the pros and cons of each. If it was your budget, would you lead towards a turbo engine or all new v6. How would the two feel in everyday driving? I like the v6 sound from what I heard with the dual exhaust. I've only driven a manual a few times before, but I don't believe the manual has AFM. The auto will probably be good for 99% of the population. Maybe with this car I'll choose the manual, since it's an option. Opinions please.

Since you are not going to get one right away, why don't you wait until you can test drive both.

I have not driven the turbo 4, but I did have the opportunity to air out the V6 manual on the Belle Isle track at the unveil and from launch, I was able to get rubber into 2nd and 3rd. IMHO, the V6 is pretty potent! Best regards, Elie

To me, it would come down to whether you are going to mod the engine for higher output. If you are a modder, then you can get much bigger gains for a lot less money out of the turbo. If you would never mod, the V6 has more HP, and revs higher. Plus, you can't get the dual mode exhaust on the turbo. Normally asperated engines have better throttle response as well. I think the V6 will be better stock, but if you want serious gains with mods, go with the turbo4. |

Take a look at this thread. Some good discussion there about the subject.

I think the V6 is going to be a huge improvement over the last V6 (love the last one BTW). It is closer to 300 lbs lighter rather than just over 200 lbs lighter like the SS. The reduced mass in unsprung and/or rotational weight will make the handling much improved. You can also get a track cooling package, and Brembo brakes on the V6 as well. That's all on top of the Dual Mode Exhaust we already mentioned. It should really be a blast to drive!
