Strut Brace removal

Im trying to remove the 2 strut braces so i can paint them. I tried once before and after about 30 minutes i gave up because i couldnt get the middle part to clear the little housing area to remove them. I just saw that they sell red ones to replace the ones we already have. There must be a certain technique to remove these, has anyone already done this? And what did you do?

I have already attempted removal once. I removed the bolts and one nut holding it on, but i couldnt free it up to get it out. So obviously they can be removed, but how is the question.

I'll be watching this thread as well. Where did you find the red ones ? Is it a GM part or aftermarket. Can you post a link please.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the strut braces of a 2016 to 2018 Camaro?

Just paint them with them on the car. A little masking tape, some newspaper for overspray, and there ya go. Less time than removing them.
