Are you guys happy with the performance of your air conditioning?

My eight year old Ford Lightning's AC on low feels twice as cold as the Camaro on full blast! In fact, I can't even tolerate my trucks AC on full blast for long it gets so cold! And yes, that even with recirculating on in the Camaro! Not to mention, my trucks build date is in 2003 and was sold in late 03 even though it's an 04 model and it's now 2012 and it's never been recharged or serviced! It's not just specific to my car because the SS I test drove felt identical. This is driving both vehicles on the same day, same temps. What's your guys opinions on the performance on the AC in the Camaro? Average, worse than average, etc? I find it lack-luster compared to what I'm used too...

Works just fine for me here in blazing hot Florida.

Mine works great but I had to mess with it a bit to figure out the coldest setting blowing the most air.

well when you go from a car with no ac (my 99 Monte carlo) to a new camaro with so so ac, any ac is better than no ac

Very happy. It was around 100 degrees here in NY for a few days last week. Had no problems with the AC.

I'm proud of it, I just don't like the loss of performance when using the A/C. I think getting a CAI fixes that problem, I know it did in my '00 Integra when I owned it.

So cold it runs me out of the car. I do have window tint which may contribute to the temp being cold.

Nope. Still hurts even with a CAI. besides your running the AC because it's hot out and that kills the performance more than the AC does.

I want to add that my truck is red in color and the interior color is light grey and I originally tinted the windows with 5% limo tint that's probably faded to about 10% and both Camaros I test drove where solid black with black interior and just the slight tint they come with from the factory. Even though I'm sure vehicle color and window tint contribute to the perceived performance of the air conditioning, even when I put my hand right up next to the vents I can clearly feel a difference. Maybe I can get a digital thermometer and test each vehicles air temp right at the vents and film it. The truck will easily and quickly give me goose bumps when on max/high in a mere few minutes, but the Camaro can barely make me feel uncomfortable on max/high on a thirty minute drive with three vents facing directly at me!

It's really great. Over the last ten years I've owned an Altima, PT Cruiser, Intrepid, and Mustang. It's just as cold and powerful as any of those cars. I love it!

Coming from a German car, the AC in the Camaro is embarassing.
