Interior door handle

Today my drivers side door handle broke. I took the door panel off and a piece of the actual door handle itself that the pull cable connects to broke, stopping the cable from being able to connect to the handle. Does anyone how to remove the interior door handle? I didn't see any bolts or screws so it may just be a pop out or something but I wasn't able to get it out or find any videos/tutorials online.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

To remove the trim panel you will need to remove the perimeter fasteners. There are two across the bottom, one on the side by the hinge, one hidden below the door pull cup rubber insert and the other hidden behind the inner door pull handle (plastic trim piece that snaps in behind the handle). The rest are buckles and hangers that snap or slide off.

I know how to pull off the door panel.. I was asking about how to remove the interior door handle itself.

I read your post... The reason why you are unable to remove it is because it's part of the inner door trim panel.

http://www.gmoutletparts.com/auto-pa...trim-door-scat

See item #8 to the left in the illustrated parts diagram? Notice how that part number is not listed on the right side parts table listing but it is listed within box #1. That means the part cannot be sold by itself, but rather as a kit. The easiest thing I would suggest for you to do is to go to your dealer and give the parts rep your VIN to ensure you order the correct inner door trim panel.

Part number REPCV462120

Just because GM doesn't sell the door handle by itself doesn't mean nobody else does. The door handle assembly itself has to be able to come out if this part above is available to be sold without replacing an interior door panel.... otherwise what's the point? I see what looks like a tab on the top so it looks like it may be able to be popped or maybe I could pry it out, but I wanted to make sure this wouldn't break anything further in case someone else had also run into this.

I can buy one I just need to know how to remove the door handle assembly itself so I can install a replacement.

Door handle assembly removed

$30 shipped. There are 3 plastic rivets that you carefully drill the tops off and it pops out the front. To reinstall you drill small holes in the remaining portion of the plastic rivet and use short self tapping screws with washers. Done!
