I'm fairly certain that he meant aesthetically, which what most people mean when talking about "looking the same." I'm in that same camp; this generation is a refinement of the older.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that the main complaint about the international Colorado is that its too rounded & car-like. Then, when GM makes the new Silverado extra blocky & more truck-like ... people still don't like it.

Not a superfan of the design, but I don't hate the silverado lol. Think it looks just fine...just similar to what we have seen before. But I don't care for much of the Colorado.

Sure but profit from what exactly? You should expand on that so people can see why.

I've expanded on that a billion times as well.

The trucks share underpinnings and powertrains. All you need to do is make some slight exterior changes between the two and create different packaging and options. Position one brand slightly upmarket of the other and voila, profit by the boatloads.

Let's assume that GMC went away. What is the percentage of GMC owners (myself included) that you believe will NOT buy a Chevrolet product that's in the same market segment? Assuming the same retention rates of course....

Depends. A good number would probably have no problem switching to Chevrolet. But you do run the risk that many may go to other brands, a la the Oldsmobile experiment in the early 2000s.

GM seems to have mostly gotten away with it for Pontiac, but loyalty in the truck market is pretty high. It comes down to this: How many are loyal to GM compared to how many are loyal to an individual brand?
