5th gen vs 6th gen
So from what I understand, GM has said that they are basing the 6th gen off of either the first gen or the 2nd gen. I personally hope they base it off of the second gen. I'm very curious to see what they would do with the body style and how much smaller it would be compared to the current camaro. I also don't want GM to make the 5th gen for 5-10 years and then finally change it. A little side humor, if they screw up the next generation, then that means we'd have, argueably, the nicest camaro between the "modern" camaros.
Opinions?

I hate the second Gens almost as much as I hate the 3rd gens. I pray they do an awesome job no matter what.

I hope and pray the go off of the 5th gen. If not, then my next choice would be the 1st gen.

GM has said absolutely nothing regarding the 6th gen. Everything you've heard is speculation.

Personally I think GM will not base the 6th gen off any of the other gens and instead will come up with something completely unique and make it more modern looking. |

Yeah...I've not seen anything from GM...no hints or anything. Like everyone else I'm very curious where this goes. I can't say I'm ready to give up my current Camaro for anything in the next few years. I really love the looks and drive of my current Camaro.

Absolutely, I'm not planning to get rid of my camaro any time soon. I'm just very curious as to what direction they would take.

To discuss your thought on best looking modern Camaro...
I had a 4th Gen...1993. I really loved that car...it was my first car. I had the 4th one in my hometown in TX. That car was a blast and looked different enough from the other cars on the road. However, I like the looks of my current one better. The only thing I miss is the torque of the V8 engine. If I lived in TX I would have pushed for getting an SS, but an SS is not a feasible daily driver in MN. I'm already pushing it with a V6 and all weather tires as a daily driver in MN. Yeah I could do the whole snow tire thing, but didn't want to mess with that and then spend $1500 bucks for the setup and hassle. I don't want to drive a beater in the winter. Just all preference of course. In owning the 2 most recent generations...my opinion is the 5th gen is the better looking of the 2. The 3rd gen isn't even a comparison IMO...not sure if that's considered modern.

This is where I read just a minor "hint" if I can say that. And yeah I agree, 5th gen is definitely my favorite. ^^

He didn't "hint" at anything"
He was merely thinking out loud how does GM design the 6th gen to surpass the 5th. Do you design it after the 1st, after the 2nd or something new entirely? That doesn't really mean anything. And if I remember correctly, Al is over the engineering aspect of new cars, not the design aspect so I doubt he's even seen any renderings of the 6th gen. |

I really hope GM designs the 6th generation Camaro to be completely different than the 5th, because that way, the 5th generation will still look amazing in its own way. Unlike the Mustang, The last 3 generations looks quite similar.
