Largest square stance possible?

Hi everyone, new to the forums, and new to my camaro. As of the beginning of this year I now own an '11 2SS Camaro. I'm loving it so far, but the tread on the tires is about to be gone, and I've run into a dilemma. I still have the stock wheels, and they are different widths as you all know. As cool as it is to have nice wide tires in the rear, I have owned a car with staggered sized wheels and it gets INCREDIBLY expensive to own nice tires. I was wondering what is the largest size wheel I can own to have a square stance on my camaro, and if I could fit a tire on slightly wider rear wheel and still be able to rotate that tire to the front. As far as wheel and tire choice, I'm looking for a 5 spoke lightweight design, preferably a bit concave and either a BFGoodich super comp tire, nitto NT05s, or Pirelli Pzeros. Thanks for the input!

I would recommend a 20x10 285 square setup

Or, you could shop the classifieds here and find a matching set of stock 20x9's (rears) and square it up with 275's....like many of us have. Or....shop some of our sponsors and have them set you up with proper offsets to meet your needs.

I second a square 275/40/20 setup. You could go larger, like a 1LE with 285s, or even a 305 like a Z/28, but if you're looking for a balance between economical and performance 275's are a good middle ground. I like the increase in the front end grip, it brought the over/understeer bias to be fairly neutral. And, I can rotate front to back, getting the most out of each tire.

Did you go +23 or +35 on the offset. I'm lowered 1" and don't want any rubbing issues. Like the idea of 275s

+35 for 20x10, +23 for 20x9

285s with 35 ET work easy with no poke. You can squeeze a 305 with the right offset and negative camber to tuck the top in slightly. I have no rubbing issues on a 1" drop and I push the turns with no rubbing at all.

Did the stock rear wheels require a spacer to go on the front, or do they rub at all? I have thought of doing the (4) 20x9 SS wheel all around, but I have heard that they can rub. I guess I just need to rotate mine to check if the stock rear on the front is ok. I have also thought of going to a 275/35 or a 265/30 tire on the stock 9" rim all around and reduce the diameter a little.

Looking at this set from WCC. 20X10 +23 on all 4 corners. I will be lowing my car with the Eibach Pro+ kits.

Can you foresee any rubbing issues up front going this route?

No, they will not rub. Plenty of room.
Whenever I get around to lowering mine , I plan on 275/35/20 all around. I think it just plain looks better. 40's are just a hair too tall.

I have no rubbing issues with 20x10's +23's all around on MPSS 285-35-20's. I'm lowered 1". I Autocross the car and do some high speed canyon driving.
I did rub with 275-40-20's all around and the same wheels. Do yourself a favor and get a good set of 285-35-20's. Looks and handles better also.

I agree on the 275/40/20, they look too tall and I would prefer to lower the effective gear ratio with a shorter tire. If you are running the stock SS 9" wheel all around, how does it look on the car with the 9" SS wheel on the front?

I also wondered about a set of the newer 6th Gen V8 SS stock wheels with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, but I hear that they do rub on the Chevy SS and on the Gen 5 Camaro.
