Window Tints KEEP PEELING!!!

My window tints on my driver and passenger side keep peeling up!!!
I have already had my driver side re-tinted about a month ago. It just now started peeling up, and now so is my passenger window. Both of them are peeling from the lower corner of the window, by the lock.

It is currently cold here in Michigan, and I got them tinted back in the summer. Maybe the cold temperature has something to do with the non-adhesion? Im pretty certain the tint film is catching on something in the door/seal when the windows index... But there has to be a way to fix it. I never had this problem on my 2010 2LT. But it keeps happening with my 2011 2SS...

HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE???

My tint guy will replace it, as they have lifetime warranty... But thats not the point. I want a FIX!

Your window tinter may be installing them wrong. Because of the indexing windows, the tint needs to be installed a little further down than usual so the edges don't get caught when the window indexes. My tint has been fine for the last 6 months.

The fix is to find a better tint installer. You need to find one that knows how to tint indexing windows correctly. Also, make sure you aren't getting the cheapest tint out there...sometimes you get what you pay for.

Yes it depends on your tint shop and also the amount of time you let it really stick when I had mine installed I basically had to wait three weeks to a month before I could put the windows down and also they have to install it below the edges or it will get caught and start to roll up and lastly every time you open the door the window rolls down a bit which can also cause it to roll up I it wasn't cut to proper length

Mine did this on the passenger side. Took it back to him and he fixed it and it hasn't happened since.

Sounds like a bad install to me. I got mine done in August and they've been great ever since. We have similar weather conditions down here and my car is exposed to the elements since its my DD.

Maybe cheap film? I did mine myself with that precut window tint off ebay, back in August, and have had no problems. It's the 5th car I've done using the same sellers tint, my old 04 GTO had the tint on it for 2 years before I traded it in and had no problems.

I had mine done at DJ's Window Tinting on Gratiot and Stephens. So far so good *knock on wood* but it's only been a couple of days. I made sure they knew the windows index.

Get your installer to pay for another installer to put it in if it comes down to that.

OP - It does sound like a bad job. Take it back to your tinter and have him install new film. If that doesn't work, a new tinter that knows how to index your windows correctly is the way to go.

Good luck, hope you get it resolved.

Everybody hit the nail on the head. Because of the window indexing they specifically have to heat the bottom up real well when installing knowing that it will be moved slightly multiple times as you get in and out of your car. This is basically 100% proven to be the issue if you are only having problems with your driver side window, as I assume you didn't really have many passengers after getting the tint installed (within 48 hours).
