Sport Mode?

Hey guys. I have a 2012 2LS. I have read many forums about how theres a sport mode and you go into it by just putting it in M and not touching the paddle shifters and it shifts for you...but when i put it into M..an "S" didn't pop up it just said M1 and my car just stayed in that...i finally just said **** it and put it back into drive. Did i do something wrong or there is no sportmode????

There have been changes made to the various features of tapshift and trans. modes from the original version and most likely that has changed with the 2012's

If you see M1 just hold the right paddle for 5 seconds till the "S" appears!! And vica versa to go back in Manual mode!!

I put mine in S and it shifted for me. Don't touch the paddle shifters and it will shift for you. But I have a 11 and you have a 12, so maybe they changed it?

If I put mine in M it shows M6 and will shift much more aggressively. I have an '11....

Something I just realized... if you take M6, the sixth letter from the letter M is "S"... coincidence?

Is it different on the LS? It says M6? It should say "S" and only say "M6" when you touch the tapshifter and are already in that gear...

If you check in the 2012 owners manual it shows in section 9 on pages 28, 29 and 30 how the manual mode works. It doesn't mention anything about what is displayed in the Driver Information Center when this mode is chosen. Normally when the transmission is put into manual mode without the tap shift paddles being used it will choose a more aggressive shift pattern for you. If this is not what happens when you use it, Rambo3, I would have the vehicle checked to make sure everything is working properly.

I think the details of this has had various changes over the past few years. My 2011 just reads M6, and if i don't use the tap shifters it does shift more aggressively. Some models have had the display read "S". Mine does not. So, essentially "M6" is sport mode.

It looks like the LS models display M6 where the LT models display S!!

I don't think 2ls has a sport mode because don't they get better fuel economy and stuff?

Nope, first thing that displays is M6 without me touching anything.
