I fully expect all car outlets to have reviews, previews and hard core metrics and tests tomorrow.
Unlike Ford with the GT350 and GT350R, I am going to assume GM is allowing press to go nuts with the cars. All the Ford reviews and previews are .est numbers. Ford is still not allowing press to reveal true numbers. This has been hinted at with GM allowing Hot Rod and Automobile Mag to post little tidbits over the last weeks. _________________ In realistic terms, the 2016 SS will be nipping at the heals of the 2015 ZL1. The Z/28 is just to refined for a 2016 SS to catch up too. The base 0-60 and 1/4 mile results are telling of the ZL1 butt kissing. The only Camaro to take on the new GT350 or R is going to be maybe the new 1LE or Z variants, but in general I see those cars crushing the GT350x. Look at the Corvette Z06, the GT350 can't touch it and I think it is a safe bet the next Z variant will sport the same motor.

I always think its NOT fair to compare the corvette Z06 with the GT350. One is mainly it costs 30k+ more than the GT350. Two the 350 is NA engine while the Z06 is supercharged V8 with more than 100HP difference and more than 200Lb-ft torque difference. The ZL1/Z28 may crush the Gt350 and I m pretty sure it will, but then I love NA engines and Fords got this one right.. I know I will get a lot of hate for this, but if I did have that kind of money, it would have been a tough choice between GT350 and ZL1.

I'm sure that the new '16 SS will lap faster compared to the 1LE, BOSS (including Laguna Seca) and Dodge products as well of the BMW M3 & M4. My question how will it go VS the actual ZL1 lap times. I guess that the ZL1 should be faster, but taking in consideration of the less weight of the 6th. gen SS, who knows?

That's 12AM ET which would be the 17th. So probably not right. Detroit is on ET at least.

The Z/28 outperformed the ZL1 and the ZL1 had 75 more hp and was not NA. Overall the lines are blurring. If Ford was to roll out a GT500 again, which I doubt will be coming anytime soon, it will be a SC GT350 motor. But we do know we have 3 different higher profile Camaros incoming. We all know the Z/28 price point would have been a lot less without the carbon brakes. It looks like they learned a thing or two since it's release. I have a feeling the next Z/28 will be a 1LE type car with a bigger motor. But back to being on topic. Tomorrow it will rain Camaro news

I don't see them boosting the Voodoo for the GT500. If they do stick with the 5.2, it would be CPC. I wouldn't be surprised if if was twin turbo'd with direct and port injection.

Mark Reuss even hinted that was the aim in motor trend before we had any real details. I'm just surprised they really delivered. SS will be a great car |
