It's getting driven on pavement roads where rock fly up and chip your paint. Theres no way to stop it from happenning unless you never drive it or you put it in a bubble.

Paint is not covered by warranty unless there is a factory defect.

Another alternative is to watch the weather channel, find a brewing hail storm, go there and get the car damaged to the point where it needs a full paint job, and let your insurance pay for it....otherwise, just get a touch-up pen and thank your stars that it took THIS long to get the first chip...most can't get through the first couple weeks without one.

I thought the guy who referred to the warranty was being sarcastic. Maybe not! Do some people actually think that ANY manufacturer is going to warrant against paint CHIPS after 2 yrs of driving ??????!!!!!!

The next owner of ours will be the state of sc. We have no heirs, and nobody worth leaving the car to. So it will go to the state, just like the rest of our stuff.

Fix it sure, but be prepared for many many more unless you cover the area.

All the more reason to enjoy it while you can. None of us know how much time we have on this earth. I say drive them, why save it for someone else to get all the good out of it?

Are you for real? Gods not smiling down on you because of a tiny little paint chip? Have you ever really driven your Camaro with 6,000 miles? With that attitude why don't you take it to a body shop and have them respray the entire car to your satisfaction and then have it put in a full body clear bra. With that done you can return your car to your atmospheric controlled garage and never drive it again so this disaster won't repeat.

What should I do? Any suggestions? The chip is about a 1/16 of an inch in diameter.
Or 4/128 radius right ?

This.

My dealer was kind enough to give me a touch up pen when I bought the car. Do you think he was trying to tell me something? Never got a chip though.

Wow there are some pretty harsh posts in here... and not many that are of any help to the guy. He appreciates his car and wants to keep it looking new... so whats wrong with that???

Anyway something you should look at getting (if you are concerned with chips) even though you dont drive much is a clear bra. Its a thin film that goes over the high impact areas and prevents chips from happening. If you do a search in the forum there is a lot of information about them and they do work very well. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
