1LE shifter boot installed. Thoughts?

Got a 1LE shifter boot installed tonight.
My hands are pretty sweaty especially when I'm excited driving through canyons and whatnot. Not sure how it'll age after a while.

As for the installation, getting the chrome bezel off was very easy and then just one torx screw(T25) to undo.
Getting the boot crown off the bezel was a bit tricky for me.
After some cussing and scratching the backside of the trim, I was able to get it off.
Reassembly was a piece of cake.

I think the suede flows pretty well with the 50th anniversary suede interior bits. Wish it had the orange stitching to match the theme better.
My mom thinks the stock leather boot looks better
What are your thoughts?

I prefer the stock one over the 1LE as well.

Much better. But the mis-matched stitching would bother me.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
Just felt like trying something different.
I guess I'll switch back to the stock one after a while lol

Color it with an orange marker.

Suede > stock. I could live without the orange stitching or find a way to color match it if I really had to. Those suede shifters are tits.

The suede on the 1LE shift knob with get matted down and start looking like caca with age. Seen that with the G5 1LE and it bugged me...

It looks good. All that matters is you like it.

I like the suede, but wish the stitching matched. If they make a sueded version I would swap mine as well. Thanks for the info and pics, sounds like easy swap.

I like the softness of the suede. It feels really nice when shifting.
But like you guys said, it doesn't match the orange stitching.
And yeah, I don't think it'll fare too well after about a year or so.. Imagine what it'll be like in the 1LE with suede steering wheels
Better get some nice pair of gloves for those babies.

I felt like just trying it out for fun. Sorry I can't disclose specifics of where I got it, but I didn't buy this boot. So no harm done for testing it out

Dan
