it might be close but i think the GT will win this one, even tho the older V8s don't have as much power as the newer ones, they still got some torque and hp that we can't quite make unless you go turbo'd or S/C'd

You make more HP but he is lighter and has more TQ... should be close.

What wheels are you running? (I see in your profile you say you have chrome 20s...are those the Boss wheels?) Hopefully they aren't heavier than stock.
Hopefully you guys will get to run each other multiple times, but really it should be a good race. 260HP / 302TQ versus your 312/278. Hes much lighter but I think the V6 can real the GT back in after the initial launch...assuming you get a decent launch too. Let us know how it goes!

I think the GT's got this one. It's lighter, has more torque, lighter wheels, and has better gearing.

If its a 1/8th, he's got you. As everyone has stated, he is lighter and has more torque. You'd need a 1/4 mile for you to have a chance to catch up after the initial launch.

My 100% STOCK, 4 day old, 2LT RS auto vs a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT (NOT a GT500... that silly Shelby GT). It was a friend of mine in the Mustang... Blew his launch and then proceeded to spin... and spin... and spin.... LOL! (BTW, 30+ MPH headwind!!! LOL)

The auto V6 Camaro is solid 14.3-14.4 car stock.... Mustang will win if it is stock(run 14 flat, high 13's with good driver), but if it's modded then game over. Should not be close at all if the Mustang is manual with good driver.

Ehhhh I'd say the auto is more a solid 14.5 car with the manual + good driver being a 14.3 car.

scrming who posted above used to get some great launchs in his car. Basically he launched from idle or just above idle (maybe 900 to 1,100 rpm), left foot on brake. Release brake when the last yellow is lit up and push the gas at the same time you release the brake. But if he launches well he should have the initial advantage because his car is lighter and lower geared so a 1/8 track makes it even tougher.. Is he modded? The stock 04 mustang GT is better from a drag but not really any better from a roll. There are several videos showing a Camaro V6 taking these cars on the street.
