Are headlights too bright?

So took my baby down to Vegas and back recently, and yesterday I driver her to Point Reyes and back. During both trips, at night, car after car going the opposite direction kept flashing their lights at me. I knew my headlights were on both times so that wasn't it. My assumption is they think my high beams are on, which they were not either time.

Is anyone else having this problem? It's very annoying getting high beams shined on me as they drive by, not to mention blinding, which is pretty dangerous I think everyone would agree.

I had this issue with my 5th gen. If I was on any sort of road that didn't have constant street lights or building lights, I got flashed. It's definitely annoying.

After 10+ years of virtually all luxury cars having HIDs people still aren't used to them. Now HIDs have trickled down to cheaper cars so there will be more.

Flick your high beams back that should teach them a lesson if they think the lows are bright!

Yes, all I do is flash the highs back so that they realize I do have them on low. It only happens once in a while, so only a few people mistake my headlights for being on high.

I just drove mine home from the dealer last night and got flashed by the pretty much the first car that passed me. I thought maybe since it was a new car and I was not used to it yet that maybe the high beams were on.
On my STI I could adjust them up or down from a button on the dash so that helped.

Maybe have the headlight alignment checked? I see this from time to time, it is not just that HID's are brighter, sometimes they are out of adjustment for whatever reason.

the sharp cutoff of light intensity can be highly annoying, especially on bumpy roads or hilly roads. But as long as that cutoff point is lower than the actual headlights at 25ft (measured against a wall) then you should be fine (but if in doubt, align it properly). Just flash them back.

Ive seen a couple 6th gens on the road at night. I dont think theyre too bright. Alot of people hate hids regardless if theyre proper or not.

Load your trunk with heavy stuff and it affects the light height too...

That's a problem with most new cars. My police department got brand new Ford Explorer squad cars and people were constantly flashing their brights at me. Which was funny for me when my red and blues came on.
