Sun roof

I am thinking about buying a 2012 or 2013 camaro with a sunroof. Has anybody heard any problems with the sunroof (i.e leaking, mechanical problems, etc.)

Thanks

no issues here so far, nor have I heard any. Only complaint is loss of headroom for taller people, my buddy hits his head if my gf was the last in the passenger seat.

I had no issues on my 2010 that had it and the only issue i had on my 2012 was a bad rattle when I had it vented but the dealer was able to fix that quickly.

Zero problems in 3 years. The only thing is if you are tall you'll have less head room. I'm 6'3" and the only time i notice it is when I'm wearing a helmet at the track.

sunroof

Does the sunroof have a shade you pull closed to keep the sunlight out when the glass is closed?

can a sunroof be put in by the dealer or does it have to come factory installed?

I am sure you can have an aftermarket one installed but personally I would only have a factory installed sunroof that came with the car.

Duke, if no one responds, call your dealer. They'll answer it. I don't have a sunroof so I can't tell you if it does or doesn't.

You can in theory but the sunroof cars have a flat roof and the non sunroof cars have the reverse mohawk. Due to the reverse mohawk a non factory sunroof is most likely never going to be 100% and it will look weird.

My new car has a sunroof.... miss the mohawk but the sunroof makes the car much brighter and it feels roomier inside.

If you want a sunroof I would get one with a factory one.

The factory one is very nice.
I could not tell any difference in height between a camaro with and without the sunroof, so if there is a difference, it's very small.
