I had the reverse mirrors on my Nissan Maxima and they were a great help. I have to learn all the complicated technology in the vehicle so I make the best use out of it. Thank you everybody for your views, tips and advice. TopHatPlus your videos are good. I like hearing (seeing) people react to the different aspects of owning a Gen6 Camaro. I am learning a lot from this forum.

So, did you not drive a new Camaro or even read about not being able to see out of these car very well. (although I'm fine and have had no issues) When your backing up you have a great camera. I'm a mirror driver, I've got my interior set correctly and my outside mirrors in the perfect positions. Its really not a problem after you've driven it a while. Reverse mirrors, WTF? Must just be 2ss. Congrats on buying a wicked ride, you should have bought a V8, although the V6 performs pretty dam good.

Reverse mirrors? They drop the mirror to show you the rear tires of the car, makes it insanely easy to get it perfectly between the lines, then when you put it into drive they return to your preset position. They world REALLY well but it took me 2 weeks to turn them on... a lot to learn in these cars...

I also don't have visibility issues with mine. Guess it depends on what your expectations are. Only time visibility is hindered at all for me is at the crest of the top of a hill because of the long front end.

Welcome to the FIFTY club! Driving a 2013 for 2½ years, my 2017 50th Anniversary (also a V6 and M6) has better visibility in some places (over the hood) along with the technology to see in other places you can't. I saw the option, but haven't setup the reverse mirrors yet. I think I will tomorrow. It's weird to have keyless entry/start, but have my routine of walking up to the car, pushing the silver button to unlock the door, sit down and tap the start button to bring my seat into position, plug in my iPhone, push the clutch, start the engine, release the ebrake, back out or pull away, and enjoy another ride in an awesome vehicle!

You will get used to the visibility in the car and forget all about it in no time.

Glad you love your car.

But as soon as you mention any technology, including mirrors to help, you are making the case for poor visibility.

Again, glad it doesn't bother you, but sorry, higher decklid, higher belt and slammed roof make for at a minimum make it worse than a Gen5. Over the hood was the only real improvement between the two cars.

Did I say I'm glad you love your car? I'm glad you love your car.

You hit the nail on the head. I think most of the complaints come from people who don't adjust their seat correctly, for whatever reason (vanity, preferences, ignorance), and yet this and properly adjusting your mirrors is driving 101. I come to the Camaro from two Mustangs and was expecting poor visibility from the reviews and comments here, but this is not the case.

Look forward to the photos.

I would really like that little feature. Even with my backup Camera I always stop and drop my mirrors before backing into a spot. Especially when I am wanting to get really close to the curb.

I disagree with this statement. My 1999 Buick Lesebra has excellent, fishbowl, visibility. I still like to move the mirrors downward when backing. There is no car with visibility so good that you can see exactly where my tires are in relation to a curb. We do have poor visibility, I am not arguing that, but the downward backup mirrors don't make a case for it.

I've owned every generation of Camaro/Trans Am except for the 5th gens so sitting low in the car is nothing new to me. I think the way these 6th gen Camaro's look completely makes up for any small visibility issues. I personally love the high belt line and low roof. Once you get use to them its really not a big deal at all. The only problem I'm still getting use to is parking nose first. Its hard to see the parking spot lines once you turn in and i'm still getting a feel for how far away the curbs are. Most of the time I end up stopping 3 feet short of the curb because i'm paranoid that i'm going beach it.

Its funny when i hop back into my Civic work car after driving the Camaro for a while. It feels like I'm in George Jetson's ride

I almost always back in, partly for the reasons you gave, but mostly because I am afraid of bumping that front lip into something. It projects out so far.
