It is as close as I will get to one if it is not. I just don't see the need for paying more for something just because of a name, exclusivity, or just because I can. The ZL1 with 10K in mods can run over 200mph and run the 1/4 in 10 seconds or less. Who cares how many they made or how much it DOES NOT cost when compared to other cars that provide comparable performance?? I won't argue with those who define a SUPERCAR differently but at the same time I won't bow down to their definition and say mine is wrong.

I would say no. One definition is "very expensive and fast sports car. Supercars are marketed by automakers as unusual and include limited production specials from an "elite" automaker, standard-looking cars modified for power and performance, as well as models that appeal to enthusiasts from smaller manufacturers."
"Supercar" is also a label custom car retrofitters reserve for their showcase, one-of-a-kind project vehicles; typically these are very extensively modified collectible muscle cars, sports cars or grand touring automobiles updated to the very latest "streetable" racing technology." While you could argue that the ZL1 is a low production, high end Camaro that has "streetable racing technology (mag. ride, aero, etc), I still don't consider it a super car. When someone says "Super Car" most people don't think of a Camaro..

the only real supercar chevy made was the zr1, but the zl1 with enough coin in mods can be just as fast!

The ZL1 is definitely a supercar, just like the ZR1... only ~8k made in 2013(limited production) and it has the tech to keep up with most 'supercars' on the road today. It's expensive(compared to the price of a reg camaro) AND it was totally re-engineered from the ground up, so it is not anything close to a regular Camaro SS.
I would like to hear why it would NOT be considered a supercar...

Yes it is a Supercar. Chevy does not sell a lot of these and to be honest I might see 5 Lamborghinis' before I see one ZL1. Now that could be because its only been around a short time, but this car runs neck n neck with some of the very best supercars such as Porsche, BMW M models and Mercedes Benz AMGs to name a few. Can you think of another car with a top speed of 184 mph from the factory of any manufacturer that isn't considered a supercar? If so, what is the definition of supercar.

BMW M cars and AMGs aren't super cars. And neither is the ZL1, it was not redesigned from the ground up either, it is an evolution of the SS. Both the SS and the ZL1 are modern muscle cars, sports cars at best.

My standard response to non ZL1 people is to show them the Nurburgring times of cars that cost way more and are slower.
Oh yeah, and Ferrari licensed the suspension from GM for their cars.
