I agree, if you don't do a little digging for more info those pictures are just going to be confusing.

It is..................but selling more of something doesn't mean you get to put more cost into the product. ATS was supposed to sell at much higher volumes, more like 3 Series.

Doesn't mean GM won't differentiate further between the SS and LS/LT either. But it is very hard to put premium materials in a sub $30,000 and keep it profitable.

But you've hit on one of the problems. If GM has 70% new parts, then they aren't getting any advantage on costs based on ATS/CTS volumes. But likely those are the 70% that include interior trim and body that would obviously be different.

But the really scary thing that crossrd my mind was when GM introduced the Saturn L series mid size cars based on the Opel Vectra. There was a video of someone proudly emptying a box with all the parts that were common with the Opel....................2 parts came out of the box as I recall. The Opel Vectra was a pretty good car. Saturn L? Not so much.

Not suggesting the same fate, it just reminded me of that.

Yeah I saw them both too, the one was just more recognizable though. There are probably other similar braces scattered around the Chassis.

The 5.0 has had tubular shorties since it was introduced.

I think that may be the grille or possible hood vent. I lean stronger on it being the center of the grille.

From the prototype running around it looks like there are several different grille designs.

One would think the Camaro would have a bigger budget than the newer and unproven ATS, but that's just a guess on my part. I think Cadillac is slowly out pricing their product which is accounting for the less than expected sales. The ATS-V looks to be a nice car, but way over priced imo. I'm guessing the pricing for the new CTS-V will also be over priced.

Overpriced compared to what? It's in line with the cars in the segment. They're all overpriced then.

Exactly. I thought I heard they felt they needed to price it up to make M and AMG owners actually consider it a competitor.

Yeah... this ATS is tits. It is well worth the price. Esp compared to its euro competition.
