If it helps the 5th gen Camaro has typically held its value quite well. Low mileage, well kept 2010's still command decent prices. So I doubt it will make much more of a difference then the changes between the other years.

Not to knock the OP's car, but just the fact that it's an LS won't help with resale value. The 2014 won't have any influence on the future cost of your car. It will drop quite nicely on it's own.

I agree it kind of sucks to see a new version of the car you just bought on the street, but I could care less about resale value because I have no intention of getting rid of mine any time soon. Even if I was worried I don't see the "new" '14s affecting the value of older models any more than if it was unchanged from 13. As much as some here like to carry on about the changes, it was just a very mild mid cycle enhancement. There are no powertrain changes, basically no interior changes, and the sheetmetal is the same except for the hood and trunk.

Gen 6 will be a whole different animal. New powertrains, new totally unrelated architecture, smaller size, whole new interior. As much as some people here carry on about minor grille and fascia changes, I can't imagine how much they will even handle the gen 6. We may need to pass out some Xanax.

I would disagree. Just because it's not a top of the line model doesn't mean there isn't demand for it. For the same reasons someone would buy a new LS they would also buy a nice used one. The differences between an LS and LT are few ( granted there are bigger differences with later model LS's ) and with the aftermarket there's little that can't be added ( like so many have already done ) .

I bought my camaro cus I just love the car and plan on keeping it forever. the 5th gen has only been around for a few years but you can already tell it's gonna be a classic. GM did an amazing job designing it. Seeing as how I'm keeping it for a long time I don't care if it turns out to be 100,000 or 5 dollars in 20-30 years it's always gonna be treasured cus it means a lot to me.

not worried one bit. If I was I wouldn't have done the mods I did to my car.

heh.. if I was nearing my time, and my offspring were undeserving... i'd probably interpret a hmong boy needing mentorship to be a sign that he was destined to own my Camaro.

I'd think by that time, value dropping wouldn't be an issue...

i'd also think by then it's damn near mandatory to wave

don't focus on the near future, the distant future looks very promising!

So this means cheapskates, skinflints and thrifty people will be able to buy a 10 year old 2010 Camaro for next to nothing?

My fully loaded '10 SS cost me MSRP ($38,500.00) exactly 4 years and 29,000 miles ago.
Today, even in it's near perfect condition, if I were to trade it in, I might get $20-22,000 for it.
Poor codition or modded out, even less.
Drive and enjoy... Depreciation, just a fact of life in the auto world.
