Anybody learn stick on their Camaros?

I went from a v6 auto to an ss manual and driving a stick sure it's kicking me in the butt I love driving the car on the highway and the pulls I can do on 3rd when entering from ramps but most of my driving is around town. Lots of stop and go driving and stalling here and there

Just wish the range on the clutch's biting point was wider, especially when driving slow and around parking lots. Just venting... Anybody else learn on their camaros?

Talk to your mechanic about adjusting the clutch, or perhaps replacing the clutch entirely once you get settled. See if you can drive other cars to get a better perspective.

I have driven manual cars in the past but, this is the first manual car I have ever owned. Took me a little while to get the full hang of it.

Lol yes I went from a v6 auto to a v8 manual and yes it was quite the experience and very embarrassing I stalled out every time I stopped. But what made things worst was that I got the car 4hrs from home.

I didn't learn on my Camaro but its like i almost had to relearn on it. For a couple months i had been driving a older BMW with a worn out clutch that grabbed at the top of the travel. Well needless to say when i got into the Camaro and it grabbed near the begging of the travel i was in a little bit of a shock.

I have driven a SS M6 and boy was that a short clutch. When i got back into my Cruze Eco M6 after the test drive my left foot was in a little shock from how different the two cars were

Plenty of manuals in the past...no problem for me...(did stall a few times at first...lol)...but my kid still gets frustrated with it...of all the manuals I've had, this one is a little fussy...just gotta get used to it...

I actually learned how to drive on a manual Camaro, but not this one. Very proficient at working a manual, and still had a couple of jumpy starts on day one.

Did really embarrass myself in a drive through on a hill. Rolled back a bit, jumped the clutch too hard, and chirped the tires pretty hard. Guy in the Benz behind me was chuckling. These things happen though, right along with the occasional stall.

Good news is, anyone who drives a manual and laughs at you for stalling at a light is only laughing because they remember the first and last time they did.

I learned on my car. It does have a small sweet spot to get it going compared to other manuals I have driven since. Once you get the hang of it it's muscle memory for your foot. enjoy!

I love a manual, but i dont buy them for that reason.. its gets old in a hurry in town in stop and go.. My vette sucks in town.. the clutch on that sucker is so heavy you leg shakes then after you drive it your foot hurts... Not to mention that when it starts to get a little warm it quits slipping so you look like a complete retard trying to pull out. 2000 rpms kill it, 2200-2500 it bucks like your ridding a bull and anything over just blowes them off.
Ive also learned that a auto is so much cheaper on the check book.... clutch fly wheel tires etc. lol..

Technology is awesome!

With that said dont feel bad, ever new car i get in about dent the floor when i push the clutch in, and then kill it when i pull out... its like they no pedal feel compaired to what im use to.

I learned to drive stick when i bought my 2012 camaro. Took me about 2 minutes to get the hang of it, drove it home (over 45 minute drive in traffic) the day it got off the truck. My dad came with me in case he needed to drive it home for me but i insisted on trying and had no problems. Basically got in it... learned the feel of engage point, pulled out of the parking lot and drove home lol. Stalled once the next week on a huge hill but its bc i slipped off the pedal. Guess im just a natural? :P

Lol, I learned stick on a friends Camaro one day when I had to detail it, and move it into a garage.

I guess I still dont really know how, as ive never gotten out of 1st/reverse. But It doesnt seem all the hard, seems like getting going is the "hard" part and everything else is fine.

A few years ago I learned on my '67. It didn't take too long, either.
