And these cars are notorious for running hot. That is part of why in 2014 and for the ZL1 they added heat extracting hood vents, stock. Gm claims it was for downforce, when in actuality they were tired of seeing their cars catch fire. I know of three friends personally who have had them burn to the ground. I love my car, and will do about anything to keep it from getting to that point. Add some long tubes and a cam, and it becomes dangerous how hot they get. How do I know? A starter that won't restart during hot, fuel temperatures that are raised up, and intake air temps that are higher than ideal.

Power = heat. The more power you make, the more heat your going to make. Thats way you need to consider better cooling when you do engine upgrades.
