Exactly and Dodge will lose most of it's current market doing so. And if the lighter smaller Camaro isn't being well received for those reasons, one can guess the Challenger just might not make it at all.

GM,which I'm sure they are, needs to keep in mind which segment this car is in and what price point they should keep it at.
Isn't the way to make parts less expensive to share them across platforms and improve manufacturing efficiency? Low production actually cost significantly more than mass production right?

using the Cadillac chassis also spreads the cost. add up all the mustang sales. then add up all the Alpha platform sales----and the Alpha's all sell at a higher price point.

Add in the fact that few people seem interested in buying Caddy sedans, it just drives the costs up even more.

ATS + CTS + Camaro is still well short of the Mustang. Maybe that's why Ford can afford a Mustang only chassis and engines like the 5.2 Voodoo, where GM can't.

Yes cheaper cars sell more volume. Good thing the objective in business is not to sell more widgets.

No, it's to sell enough to justify still making them.

Still off but I fixed it for you. If GM could make the same amount of money selling 1 Camaro as selling 100,000 how many do you think they would build?

They were also heavily marketing the AWD version with the V6. That had to have some effect especially with how bad this Winter was for much of the U.S.

I have winter tires for both my cars but I was forced to drive the Subaru much much more than any other year that I've lived up here.

Clearly, you didn't understand the question. The choice was one or the other.

Hilarious!!!!

Just to be clear 85% of the time a large SUV also only have one person in the vehicle. Giving consideration to the few times you might like to take 4 to dinner (very doable in a Gen5) is a reasonable thing in what car or truck or SUV you buy.

The price is the issue for this gen, in Canada a 2LT with a V6 is the same price a GT premium so why get a Camaro in this case? I hope chevy lowers the cost in Canada would love an SS. A nicely equipped 1SS here is close to 50k a 2SS is close to 60k.
