On the other hand, Lutz writes, “The minute I saw the new Mustang and the new Camaro, I knew Ford had won this round. The Mustang is a design masterpiece: sleek, semi-European, yet still a Mustang. Independent rear suspension or not, it is a winner.”
There’s a reason the Dodge Challenger outsold both the Mustang and Camaro earlier this year: Dodge knows who’s buying the car. So if the Mustang is a winner looks wise, and the Challenger has not changed significantly (looks wise) since it's release almost 10 years ago...how did it beat the Mustang this year? Answer, that one Lutz.

I'd hope European styling sells in Europe

I agree that the Gen 6 Camaro looks to much like the Gen 5. However, the challenger, Camaro, and Mustang have all gotten their resurgence from the fact that they look like their late 60’s version. So, I don’t agree that the Mustang is doing better because it’s more European looking. IMO, it’s always been Brand Loyalty. Ford has always done better in the new car arena while chevy seems to to better in the long run.

Subjective. Opinion respected. To me, Dodge's are completely hideous. The only Mustang I like is the Super Snake and GT 350. My buddy has a Roush and he's on my nuts about my Zl1. He wishes he bought the Zl1. I don't even give a 2nd look to Mustangs. Ever. Now a clean Camaro will get my attention. I rarely even pay attention to Chargers or Challengers anymore either.

I used to sit behind him at a weekly meeting at GM. He was seated at the "decision making table", I was in the row behind because I was a support person to the guy that always sat next to Bob. Bob was one of the first people to use a Blackberry. Within months most GM execs and managers (self included) were issued Blackberries. He'd sit quietly in the meeting to the point where some people thought he was napping, then someone would get to a page in their presentation and he would stop them and say something like..."the last time you showed us this I asked you to come back with more information on <something specific and important>. "Did you do that?" "No?....then why are we talking about this? I don't think you should move any further until you've answered our questions" My point being, even when you thought he wasn't paying attention, he was. He was wrong sometimes, but he was right a heck of a lot more than he was wrong.

Well, this is all a moot point anyhow. He also claims that no one will own a car in less than 20 years.

Camaro > Mustang/Dodge as Lamborghini > Ferrari (my opinion will never change)
- I very much prefer the design of the Camaro to the Mustang or Challenger. - I would never buy a Mustang or Challenger (I prefer the Corvette or a Mercedes/BMW). - Camaro will always be my preference over the Mustang. .
