"Early production"

I have been spending a lot of time on this site since I bought my 2010 2SS a couple of months ago. IOM, 478 rwhp, only 6200 miles. I've learned a lot but one issue still bugs me. My car was ordered in 2008, built May 2009, has chicklets, no back up sensors so I would assume it is an early production car but VIN says it is number 107,388. That doesn't seem like a low number to me. Am I missing something here? I know it doesn't effect anything but I am curious.

Thanks

No idea...

But I'm sure some VIN experts will chime in shortly.

lol who cares what the production number is. You've got one gorgeous color combo. if i didnt have the green and cyber gray, then red and white would be my next choice.

There are specific issues associated with the earliest builds. However, I don't think there were 100,000 units produced for the 2010 models. I have a 2010 SS I purchased in 12/09 and it is 72,386. According the post below the sequence starts with 100001.

When these cars were made they did not make them in order. Mine is #16429 and it's still a low/early production or an R6P RPO which designates that it's one of the first 10,000 Camaros pre ordered in the fall of 2008.

Yours may or may not be an R6P. To find out, pop your trunk, and pull back the carpet liner and you should find a square silver decal listing all of your option codes. If R6P is anywhere on that you have an early production 5th GEN. It really doesn't mean much other than it was one of the first 10,000 ordered.

Mine is as yours, op, chicklets, no backup sensors. Build number 125xxx, built on July 09'. Every time I read the build sheet I learn something new. It came with sterling silver rims but the rs package turns them into midnight silver. Build sheet references both colors, so I was confused as of a few days ago. News to me!

First off, welcome to the forum kwhman Your car probably also has an R6P "pre-order" code on it.

At the time I didn't know the color was a special edition, it just caught my eye and I was hooked.
From what ive read on here the car is 1 of 2450 synergy green camaros and 1 of 403 that are manual... Does that sound about right numbers wise?

I believe only the ZL1s and maybe Z/28s used sequential Vin numbers.
