SS badges on V6...
Hi,
Recently I bought a 2LT RS Camaro and as you know it has a V6. I could not qualify for the loan for the SS. The sad thing is the dealer(family friend) let me drive a 2SS for 2 weeks until they could shop lenders to find approval for a loan. I got a call on the phone saying "sorry man, couldn't find a lender please bring back the car." It literally broke my heart and they didn't have a V6 in the color I wanted so I had to wait. I really loved that SS, had everything I needed and more. Because I was so heart broken, I bought some SS badges as well as a " / " badges and put them on my car. For the front I simply covered the "RS" badge with a SS badge, and on the trunk lid I added "SS / " to the RS for "SS / RS". Lately, I've been getting a lot of flak from people that know about the Mail slot and Brembos on the actual SS and I'm just curious if I should remove the SS badges and just deal with the reduced perma-grin. What are your thoughts? |

Sucks that you bought a car that you're not happy with but yeah man...putting SS badges on a non-SS is pretty lame.

I say do as you like and what makes you happy. If taking slack from people isnt your thing, then remove them.
Personally I wouldnt add SS to a V6 Camaro. That is just me. I have an 2SS non-RS with RS headlights and I still dont want to get a red SS symbol. In my opinion, I like the white SS symbol better than the red one. |

Please remove the badges. Its cool to put SS parts on the car but badging is a no no to most.

Trolling? And never put badges on your car that aren't yours, I saw a 350z with GTR emblems on it, it just makes you look like you are way too envious.

I apologize for not having more posts, I'm new. I find discussion forums kind of irrelevant, you always seem to run into some folks who take this way too serious as it's their only social outlet.
To be honest, the only reason I got the car is to pick up women. Not to hang out in a parking lot and talk to guys or to be on some forum full of the socially inept. My $.02 |

To each his own, you can put whatever you like on your car, but if I met you on the street I would still give you shit for trying to imitate. In fact, it's insulting to all the V6 owners who have done amazing work to their cars which make me jealous.

Take em off ... VERY LAME.
On a side note ... nothing to be ashamed of. I would venture to guess that you are a young guy and these cars are not cheap. Just put in your time ... you will have a SS one day and it will mean that much more to you. Funny ... I had a similar experience with a lender back in the day when I almost bought a 69! I was soooooooo pissed! ... oh well, those are the breaks sometimes.

I would guess that anyone that knows anything about the new Camaro will be looking at you like your some sort of dork and likely LOL'ing about you. I would remove them, personally.... Or I would get an SS nose on the car at a minimum.... But the calipers are still a dead give away to your charade at 50 feet.
So, the problem is that you did not do an SS clone and badge it to match, instead you threw the badges on in hopes that no one would call out your ruse... But as you have told us yourself, the ruse is sporadically back firing. Save the embarrassment and humiliation and just take them off. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk |
