Is the ZL1 broke or is it being updated? I was in a ZL1 news blog and heard that the ZL1 engine is being reworked to put out over 650 or more horses to go against the Mustang GT500. Just a rumor and am sure GM doesnt want Ford to know about it if true. So lets just keep this to ourselves...ok?

I doubt at this point of the game, they change HP. Then so many other things get affected.

The GM Engineers want to make sure this car is perfect. And I'm sure we will be happy they do so.

Yeh...but keep in mind the ZL1 was supposed to be the host of the party for GM, now with the Mustang GT500 crashing the party before it even starts. GM may just be forced to raise the stakes. Plus adding 650 hp probably wont change much else after all those who buy will probably be adding more power anyway. Its expected.

No, it is true! Chevy is adding twin turbos to the upgraded 2.3 liter supercharger and converting it to four wheel drive too. It will be closer to 1200HP than 650HP. Plus they added a 10 year 250,000 mi. drivetrain warranty to boot.

I heard they're adding a flux capacitor that will allow the ZL1 to transform into a "Bumblebee" type autobot and beat the GT500 into submission.

The Mustang having more HP wouldn't keep me from buying a ZL1, I would be content with the 580HP.

Would be great if they were bumping it up.......but I doubt it severely

With the ZL1 you get the suspension and road course handling that is not simply beat by Ford adding more horspower to the GT500. The GT500 is nice however I dont think it is even in the same league as the ZL1. Even if the ZL1 had less horsepower than 580 I would still take it over a Mustang GT500....Its a 5th Gen Camaro after all, it just looks much more modern then the Mustang to me, Oh and what is under the hood and undercarriage matches the modern lines of this beautiful car...

Oh I heard GM is just giving up. The are taking all the ZL1s and just putting them in car crushers.

All the speculation about this car is more exciting than actually getting one. I love this. I'm going to be bored once I get the car.
