i find the pricing difference with the mustang disturbing for no other reason than they've been down this road before in the 80s and 90s when the Camaro was unquestionably better, but also priced higher, and we know what happened to sales.

Not necessarily. You can't get a 1LE in automatic

$41,300 base 2SS. that is 4 grand over the 37,305 they now list the 2015 on Chevy site. That is a big jump. Please no RS BS because they could have still have carried it as an option if they wanted to keep the sticker down.

And they probably just raised the 2015 prices to make the 2016s price look better. They did that on the 2013 trucks about 6 months before the prices came out on the new 2014s model change.

So if I could get MRC on a 2015 2SS auto, I would be about a grand over the base 2016 2SS. But now an auto MRC is 46m smooth...At this price I will for sure drive a GT and a scat pac. and a C with and with out mrc...and then again a damn FWD cross over at chevy can sticker over 40m...

Actually the price you're quoting is a discount from the normal price as GM is already clearing cars out and offering discounts.

Your logic around the RS pack is pricelss. So why not just make higher end items free for all??? Not going to happen. To make the 2015 2SS options even close to the same as the 2016 2SS you need to add almost $3000. Anyone who knows anything about pricing and new model prices expected a $1K minimum increase if not more.

You seem to think these cars were going to be loaded at a discount.... #Expectations

Camaro Pricing

2SS with all the major options: $46,050 plus TT&L. I love it. I've had 4 C-5's and 1 C-6 Corvettes since 1998. While the Corvette is an outstanding car at todays price of about $60k and up I can't wait for my first Camaro. I hope everyone on this forum finds the car their looking for. Now or in the future.

Dodge plans twice as many Hellcats on the road for the 2016 model year, they are going to be a bit more expensive when buyers sign on the dotted line. According to CarsDirect and confirmed to Autoblog by Dodge, 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat costs $65,190, an increase of $4,200 over 2015. That figure includes $995 for destination and $1,700 for the Gas Guzzler charge.

The latest Charger SRT Hellcat retails for $68,640, a $3,650 increase. Other SRT trims of the muscle cars also see a price hike. The 2016 Challenger SRT 392 is $51,190, after destination and a $1,000 guzzler charger – a $3,500 increase. The Charger SRT 392 also jumps $3,000, to $51,990.

http://www.autoblog.com/2015/08/21/d...rice-increase/

Like I said with all the extra goodies people want these things are not getting cheaper, Camaro6 is the vast minority in Camaro purchases, every new car I see is loaded to the tits, we the consumer are bringing this on our selves.

Thats what Im saying, its the big picture Im waiting for. If this thing delivers as promised, you are basically getting better than M4 performance and tech (well minus some of the refinement) for $20k less, there really is nothing else out there that would compare for $43-$45k. Of course IF it delivers. Im waiting until 2018 to get a used one anyway lol, so hey guys make sure you order lots of fully loaded summit white 2ss's with no sun roof please, thanks!

I'm not that surprised or upset at the pricing. Historically (at least since the 3rd Gen) the Camaro has been priced higher than the Mustang. The divide is usually bigger on the hi-perf models. I am curious to see how much the new ZL1 or Z/28 comes in at.. low $60K?

Those comparing the 2SS to the base GT350 ($49,995 with destination and the $1300 gas-guzzler tax) purely on price are missing that you need the Technology Package ($7500) to get the creature comforts of a 2SS and the Track Package ($6500) to get mag ride and oil/Trans coolers. It's a bogus comparison

Quote:
The GT350 has two main options, which are mutually exclusive: the Technology Package and the Track Package. At $7500, the Technology Package includes navigation, Sync 3, leather, dual-zone automatic temperature control, dual power seats with four-way headrests and climate control, a seven-speaker audio system with satellite radio, Ford’s Integrated Driver Control System, MagneRide, heavy-duty front springs, turn-signal mirrors, and a garage-door opener. The Track Package also has MagneRide and the heavy-duty front springs as well as coolers for the engine oil, transmission, and differential; a strut-tower brace; the Integrated Driver Control System; and a rear decklid spoiler

the average buyer wont see the value in the camaro

so if the price is quite more than a well equipped mustang than theyll likely go for that.

One way to combat that is to release performance numbers and advertise the car as a bette performer which is worth the extra few grand.

Majority of people we know are not car people in which pricing along can be a the difference between a sale and not.

You guys mentioning prices on the fifth gen have me confused. I thought they started at 31 in the states (this was back in 2010) because I remember a 1SS starting around 38k in Canada in 2010. Guess I didnt realize the price jumps over the years (due to included upgrades I assume).
