And what is the purpose of this? I know if you're doing a burnout on the streets your showing off, racing, gettin tickets and othe fun things like that. But what's the purpose at a show? What a waste of tire.

I asked that very question about the Australians LOVE of all smokey burnouts. They spend gobs of money on cars, just to do burnouts. Recently saw a blown 1500 hp 5th gen doing a smokey burnout and asked why spend all that money when my neon could do the same burnout, I got yelled at and kicked out of the car enthusiast group by some kid, . There is no racing, just burnouts. I don't get it.

Only problem I have ever had was tires are expensive. Just to do it I once melted the tires in my '70 until sparks from the belts were flying. But I knew I had an overload of torque every time I hit the happy pedal, I didn't need to smear the tires. Once I hit 19 I got that out of my system.

I didn't look at this until now (sorry )
This was a burnout competition, there was a trophy and a cash prize. |

It costs me 2800 bucks to replace my tires.
Plus, it's just cooler to go fast without burnouts. Burnouts are slow.

Word! It's way more fun to roast your tires off at a road course pushing g's in corners.

It's amazing how much rubber you can scrub off in a day. What tires are you running? I have the stock GY F1 G2's and they wore really nice and even.
