My wife can drive my car, she drives it just fine. But she rarely does because she doesn't like the manual transmission. She prefers a car that shifts automatically, weird!

I let co-workers, friends, and extended family drive my car. I like to share the fun the car offers.

Two thumbs up. This is exactly how I feel. If we don't let people feel the joy of driving fun cars how do we keep the hobby (and GM) alive?

I used to have a bone stock, one family owned, 1927 Ford Model T. When I took it to car shows, I had signs that said "PLEASE TOUCH". People loved it. Photo ops with people of all ages happened the entire time, from Grandma and Grandpa on down to preteens. Cars are meant to be enjoyed and experienced by all. If we rope off the hobby like people rope off their cars like a museum, it's hard to build interest. Just my two cents.

I couldn't agree more! Kinda like when people buy trucks and are terrified to scratch them, haha. Don't get me wrong, I want my vehicles to look good, but I'm not too precious with them. Share the joy!

Indeed! These machines were meant to be driven and enjoyed!

In the 16 years of marriage, my wife has driven my cars around 5 times. It isn't that I don't let her, she just doesn't want to. On the other hand, it is the main reason I got an automatic, she doesn't know how to drive a manual and at this point doesn't want to learn and if she has to drive my car for whatever reason, she has to be able to do so.

Size: 245.3 KBOur RS was purchased with it being her primary daily driver and the V6 is plenty of power for both of us. Our ages and arthritic knees mandated an auto, even though I would have suffered thru a manual. We had a Challenger R/T ScatPack rental several years ago--6 speed manual--that both of us thoroughly enjoyed for 2600 miles (Salt Lake to Seattle and back). She spent 4 years driving Germany's autobahns; power, manual trans, speed are not a problem for her; our age is the limiting factor!
