You will know when the clutch is dying, if it's wear (if it last that long-depending on how you drive it), it would be slipping, if your hearing funny noises in that area then it could be other problems.

I just replaced mine 2 weeks a go with a Monster LT1-S twin, and couldn't be happier. Good price too.
The pedal is softer, due to the dual disc, it's just like stock, rather better then the stock clutch to me IMO.
No sticking pedal at higher RPM's, a I think it has an all together better feel to it overall.
