As for the silly question "who am I trying to impress"? The answer is no one. Not sure why, but I like the idea of wringing more power from the stock blower, and love the whine from the faster blower speeds. IAT's have not been an issue with the cooling mods I made, so i think I am good to spin the blower a little faster and will likely stop at 850rwhp +/-

This has been such a fun process, despite the few steps back, and I have really enjoyed sharing the experience with all of you
I know I've been following your build, i was just just giving you shit. What you should really be saving for is getting that beautiful car out of impound once the CHP gets ahold of it. with that being said, i'm nowhere near your power level and i had my TCM tuned last weekend and it's a whole new animal. Just something to think about.

I for one don't like to run hardware at or very near its maximum capability/capacity, so I would definitely not try to push a small blower and "see how far it can go". Every component has a sweet spot or a band where you can get the best blend of power, efficiency and longevity, so even if nothing bad happens to that 1.7-liter unit right off the bat, to me this feels like rolling the dice again and again.

While just doing my oil change on the lift I found my cats were shot. I bought the ARH headers with their cats and they were gone (rattling) in 5k miles. I replaced them with GESI high flow cats. I also decided to go back to the NPP exhaust as the AWE Touring axle backs were just too loud. What I found out is the Kong Xport I did with the WeaponX lid allows the whine sound to really be heard, especially in touring mode. So for now I feel like I have what I was really looking for in a build. Good luck going forward.

What is your enrichment lambda and is COT turned on?

If so is your cot set to stock values?

COT was turned off after I gutted the ARH cats.

I will re-evaluate the COT values after I talk with my tuner.

Received on Friday... Installed on Monday... Car is back to having that deep mean tone... 15% less volume... 75% less smell... and a set of off-road pipes that can be easily swapped for dyno / race days...

The only downside is slightly reduced ground clearance. As the V band hangs about .25" lower than the collector.

Looks like your cats are the low point anyway, maybe it’s the camera angle….. properly installed V-bands are the way to go. The hardest part is insuring the flanges don’t warp during the welding process. I’ve found over the years that the machined flange v-bands are most likely to leak vs. the formed flanges.
