From my ordering experience Saturday, I don't think many at all are built for dealer stock. Maybe more so the V6's.

That's a tough statistic since dealers place orders for their own cars, too. They get allocations and have the opportunity to design their inventory the same way a customer would order a specific car.

Wouldn't know, but knew I wanted a 2012 ZL1 and wasn't in position to order while there were still allotments available. So I found mine on a lot and am quite happy. I would have ordered it differently, I would not have opted for the the exposed carbon fiber insert or the microfiber package, but I'm really glad the car came with those items.

Didn't have to order; was able to find model, color, and all options exactly as we wanted. Granted, it took several weeks and much time devoted to internet searching dealers inventories to find EXACTLY what we wanted. Finding in existing inventory was our only hope of getting an IBM; we had planned to order in April of 2012 and they discontinued the color before we placed the order.

I was forced to buy mine off the lot due to the fact that earthquake in Japan took out a factory that made the pigment for IBM. They stopped taking orders for IBM a couple days before I got mine. But my dealer searched all inventory 500 miles out and found a car almost exactly the way I wanted, the only thing missing was the ground effects and it had the 21" rim package.

It depends what year. I was a pre-order guy (ordered in Dec 2008) when the dealers had no Camaro's on their lots. I would say their were more 2010's ordered than any other year.

This is the first car that ive bought brand new so I wanted to order it exactly like I wanted. I didnt even have them look for cars like I wanted. I hated the wait but im so glad I did and ill be doing it the same way hopefully in 2016 for my 50th anniversary
