Replacing Halo Led?
Has anyone been successful in doing this? I don't understand by companies like AAC don't offer such option? I would be open and interested in taking part in a mod like this. I would prefer the 2 led's for a brighter halo ring as seen in the newer camaro SS models.

That is exactly how the Nightowl kit is installed.

I had the JDP now the Night Owl. I have done 4 sets pretty easy.
1. Remove the wheels, and liners 2. Remove the bumper cover 3. Remove the head lights 4. Open the top and bottom via the access area 5. Cut the old LED 6. Un-screw plastic piece holding the LED in plce, lift it up and slide out the old and slide in the new. (2 of the 3 screws are a PITA, and getting in the LED can be a pain just take your time). 7. Slide the new LED plug through the small access area 8. Close it up and put the headlights back in. I cannot stress enough take your time and go slow.

IMO its brighter, and the phone application (you can control the kit via iOS app or android app) allows you to fine tune the white color or any color.

Guys first off let set up so all will get it.
2010-13(and all ZL1) headlights use 1 LED per headlight. 2014/15 use 8 LED (US cars) 10 LED for the Ero cars, so we older headlight owners will never have the same bright halo ring as the newer headlight cars. all the old headlight use a star mounted LED in white, in the 5000K range, you can get them from lots of places, and there in the $10-20 range, the ones that are sold in the kits are RGB, more then one color, if that is what you want then get a kit, if all your looking to do is replace the LED no need to buy a kit. |
