Door Seal

Anyone ever have an an issue with theier lower door seals allowing wanter in?
my Pass doo lower seems to have a crap seal. Every time i wash it, there is a little water on my sill plate. I do not use a pressure washer and have a low pressure/volume hose.

That is odd, I sometimes use my little use pressure washer when I’m too lazy to dry wash and have not noticed water on my sill yet. Is there any abnormal deformity to the seal like a crease, divot or does it look compacted? I’m wondering if that door is never opened if the seal becomes complacent. Although your car is new. And congratulations by the way.

Could it be getting by the window glass seal and running out the bottom of the door?

Great point, you should look at the bottom of the door for the drainage port, and see if that lines up where you’re finding water on your door sill

It definitely looks like it’s from the bottom. Almost like they missed a seal in assembly. It’s hard to explain but I can tell it’s from an upward spray

Interesting. Definitely not right. I have used a 2000psi pressure washer on my car for years and have never had any water inside the cabin or in the sills. I even spend extra time on the door also because soap tends to collet under the doors above the rocker panel. The B pillar where the door latch always gets wet but that's normal. Maybe take some pictures so people can compare theirs to yours.

The 5 gen has a rubber panel in the doors that’s supposed force water out the drain. Mine had to be resealed. Does the 6 gen have this?

Every door has a “barrier” of some kind. The inside of the door is considered a wet environment. So if this barrier, which can be a plastic panel or heavy plastic is either sealed to the door inner panel with PSA or a butyl seal (better). Water WILL get past the outer belt seal and into he the door. If the inner barrier is not well installed and sealing against the door inner panel water can get past this and under the door trim into the car.

I run through a car wash frequently (don't flame me...it's a great car wash and I've been using it nearly daily since 2013...and I dry the car off myself) and there is always water in the door jams. I have a separate towel just to wipe those down after. Happened on my 2019 1LT and happens on my 2024 2SS
