What you all miss is GM is not in the financial shape you think its in. Mustangs are selling 2 to one over Camaro and that's why they have to make it a world car. Lighter and smaller with better fuel economy, something Europe will accept! They build cars to make money, not to satisfy everyone's needs, and 2014/2015 they had a lot of very low selling losing money model lines. example SS, Z/28. The list goes on!!

I really think we will be pleasantly surprised at the F6 interior. Like I said, our ATS interior is AWESOME!!! Interior resolved, plus a diet= the PERFECT Camaro!

Think the biggest problem was it didn't age well and a lot of manufacturers have really stepped up the game with interior design. I would argue the only reason it won best interior in 2010 was the fact it was new and retro. My 2009 Jetta had a much better interior than the 2010 Camaro imo.

To me, the interior is the most important part of the car, because that's the part that you deal with and see every day. The performance is second for me, because as much as I love having cars with great low end torque, my car will probably never see a track as long as I own it. The exterior and performance get me in the door looking at a car, but the interior sells it (or makes me pass in the case of the Camaro). For someone using a car as a daily driver, interior design, materials used, and ergonomics are critically important to get right. |

True. Significant is that the GTO is a 2004 and the ZL1 a 2013. I'm not complaining though because I feel the ZL1 is still nice inside and I'm fortunate to be able to own one.

I will wager that the interior on the Gen 6 will be the wow. The exterior, from what we've seen, is a refinement of the Gen 5 styling. Fine, not what I was hoping for. It is taking a "safe" path forward.
The interior will be much improved. I have no way of knowing, but I believe the folks there know better how to get the materials right. Just look at the Impala, Corvette and Tahoe/Suburban. GM would have to really drop the ball to not make a huge leap with the interior. I hope I am correct. Good ergonomics - much of the visibility issues with the Gen 5 are a result of the Zeta architecture. Hoping the Alpha based car improves in this regard. Materials - as I said, look at GM's other products. They are getting it right......or at least much better. Features - certainly you can expect a much more integrated design with at least an 8" NAV/My Link screen available. Digital dual zone HVAC. All the latest crash avoidance goodies, SBZA, FCA..... I also bet it has height adjustment in the passenger seat Like I said, they would almost have to purposely make it bad based on what they've done since the Camaro launched. Of course I do hope the folks that did the Malibu interior weren't involved. I think when we see the Malibu at NY that will be a great indicator. I certainly believe the Camaro will get at least an equal level to the NG Malibu launching just ahead of the Camaro. From what I've seen, the exterior would not cause me to reject the car. But the interior has to be far better. Right now the current interior would prevent me from buying a Camaro if I were in the market.

. Going back to their origins in the Swinging '60s, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been fierce rivals for fans' hearts and dollars. Historically, the Ford often led in volume, but Chevy took the muscle car top spot in 2009 upon the Camaro's rebirth. However, with the launch of the latest Blue Oval pony car, the tide is turning back in Ford's favor. November was the first full month of sales for the new 2015 Mustang, and according to TheDetroitBureau.com, the model did spectacularly well. The Blue Oval shifted 8,728 of them, up 62 percent from same month last year, with the automaker proclaiming it the model's best November sales since 2006. Conversely, 4,385 units of the Camaro were delivered, down 13.5 percent year-over-year, meaning its sales were roughly half that of the new-generation Mustang |
