Thumbs up Car&Driver Camaro In-Depth Review: King of the Pony-Car Hill

Excellent new, thorough review

Quote:
When it comes to fast and fun, it's second to none.

NOVEMBER 2017 - BY ERIC STAFFORD - PHOTOS BY MICHAEL SIMARI

The Chevrolet Camaro is first and foremost a driver’s car.

A phenomenal chassis and fantastic powertrains enable it to perform with cars more than twice its price—

which is the reason it scored a spot on our annual 10Best Cars list.

HIGHS
All versions are profoundly fun to drive, excellent V-6 and V-8 engines, track-focused 1LE package delivers race-car capability.

LOWS
Torturous back seat, terrible outward visibility, not as visually stunning as the Mustang.

VERDICT
For the purest and most accomplished pony car, look no further.

I laugh inside at every Mustang I see. Other than a Super Snake, but I never see those so. Off to the scrap yard Mustangs go!!!!!!! dilly dilly.

I know it won't be a popular opinion, but I'd have to agree. I like the looks of the Mustang better overall.

The Camaro looks great from every angle except the rear (which is what most people on the road see of me). I think the rear is rather pedestrian, and not nearly as appealing as my M3's ass end was.

I even like the interior of the Mustang better, especially the '18 with the electronic dashboard.

Still, what matters most is the driving experience. There isn't much contest there as far as I'm concerned.

I’m a long time mustang guy and think the mustang from 2015 - present is ugly as hell. Ok, I do like the ass end, but that’s it. If I was given a new mustang, I’d trade it in for a Camaro.

Nothing about the look of the Mustang is "stunning", in my eyes...But it doesn't look like a Prius, so that's a plus. Honestly, I think it looks like they took the last-gen car and left it in a microwave for too long...

BUT....everyone has an opinion, this guy gets to write his down.

I do agree the Camaro unequivocally outperforms its peers, and is so well-dialed in. Such a pleasure to drive!

I think the Mustang looks good although it's not "me". IMO the Camaro rear end looks good in the 1LE trims with optional black tails and badges. I recieve quite a few compliments on it.
