Not I, nothing it like shifting yourself, and the A10 shifts itself too much lol...the quick shifts are basically negated by the amount it shifts. I would maybe try a legit DCT...but I don't see that happening in these type of cars. I had a GTI daily driver with the DSG, wasn't that bad at all...

Don't know why any of you guys would be surprised.

I've said it multiple times. Higher peak power, and a quick shifting auto transmission that will keep it firmly in the meat of its power all the time means this new GT will be basically equal to the current Camaro SS in a straight line.

If anything, I still give the SS a tenth or two tenth advantage b/c it will have slightly less weight, and better TQ...especially under the curve where the Coyote simply can't make the same amount of TQ.

Also, no reason to be butthurt, as the new GT is no faster than the current SS...but it has definitely caught up. Now its just gets more interesting.

The Shelby guys probably don't care. The GT350 is not a drag car...

You are the only one hellbent about GT350 drag times on multiple threads here.

Spot on, and they'll likely always fall back on their cars holding far more value.

I don't think Shelby guys care either. It's a more unique vehicle and will hold value better, so upfront cost is probably irrelevant if you can afford it.

Agreed, even with this new info, if I were shopping for a new Mustang I'd still give a GT350 the nod over the GT.

If I was in the market for a GT350, I would at least be wondering why the extra 66hp (over a base GT) does not buy me better straight line performance.

I'm interested to see the GT manual vs. GT350 acceleration #s.

Best GT350R was a 3.9 (or maybe a 3.8?) if I recall, best GT350 was a 4.1...the manual GT I will guess to be right around a 4.2 or 4.1. Previous manual S550's were anywhere from 4.5-4.3 in the many tests.

Traction and gearing. The GT350 isn't setup for 1/4 miles.

I know the A10 is better suited for drag racing, but come on... With ~190 more horsepower, the manual transmission ZL1s should at least be able to keep up... It should be embarrassing to GM that their manual transmission ZL1s can't launch.
It depends on the driver. Magazine testers have gotten the M6 ZL1 to do an 11.7 if I remember. The A10 has done an 11.4. My best was an 11.8 with my A10 but that was just rolling off idle, no launching, no burnout, stock tire pressure, no changes whatsoever. M6s are always gonna be harder to launch. The key tho is to look at your MPH. Trust me, you'll absolutely destroy a GT in a rollon based on your MPH.

Problem being the driver. A 460 hp auto equipped car will be far easier to launch than a M6 equipped 650 hp car. Look at the 13-14 GT500s. It has more power than the 17 A10 ZL1, it is lighter...yet the A10 ZL1 beats it by almost half a second. But if you're comparing your ZL1 to a GT and thinking your ZL1 is having problems keeping up then maybe you should be trading it in.

Ok and that is respectable. I said that before. But I still would like to see what it does in a H2H by a third party unbiased tester.

I said it many times that for a car costing as much as it does it should be better in the quarter mile especially since it isn't even better than the comparably priced ZL1 on a track. My argument is more that it is overpriced. And I use the test results as well as the (lack of) options and the results from the H2H to come to that decision.

Yup. The Shelby is supposed to be the top performer in the Mustang lineup. The price you pay for it as well as the extra hp and tq should put it above the GT.

Drag car or not, gonna be lots of pissed off Shelby owners wondering why 460 hp is so much quicker than 526 hp lol...

Guessing the new manuals will be in the 12.50’s with that POS MT-82...
Lol DA was far from super around +300 they have made a total of 6 pass before it start to rain. They were leaving the line around 1500 rpm because of bad traction with the 3.55 gearing and crazy short first gear of the A10. I bet the 3.15 gear car will be faster of the line in street tire.

Only 4 bone stock 2016+ A8 ss have been faster in the list and those are in mineshaft air like -1000 DA.

Not bad for a little 5.0L on her first outting!!

Nope the SS has been 11s in positive DA

You might want to check other places too. Someone just went 11.8 @117+ on facebook in positive DA stock to the tire. Ive seen people claim as fast as 11.7 on facebook for a stock SS.

forums aren't that popular anymore.

Fore sure #1 was in better than -1000 DA
Sure some have done it. I ran 12.55 stock 2015 GT manual 6 speed that don't make it normal

But I always say it myself not all the people are listing their timeslip

For sure the camaro is a fast car. But I assure you that many will be in the 11's all stock with the 18 GT especially with better than 1500rpm launch of the line. Those guy were just experimenting with a completely new car with new engine and transmission.
