beating on/abusing your car??

When it comes to my personal items, such as my cars or whatever. I take care of it very well. Matter of fact I consider myself more on the anal side. In this case, dropping some serious coin on a brand new car like this I want to take care of it as best as possible. Now, with just a hair over 2100 miles, I've have floored it now about a dozen times. For some reason I feel guilty as I feel like I'm abusing it. Then again, I read a lot of posts here from others and say to myself, "well maybe not so much". I do take care of it, but dang it, its such an adrenaline rush when I get into it!

With that said, how do you treat your vehicles?

Same exact way!! I like to baby my car. I'll do WOT like 3 times a week and after every time I feel a little guilty too. I know these cars are suppose to take it but still. My 2007 civic si I treated like this until 120k miles and the clutch and transmission still felt like new. I want to keep this car feeling like new as long as possible so I will continue to baby it.

Give it hell every time I'm in it. I didn't spent +30k to drive it like a Prius.

When I had my 2013 Mustang GT, it saw WOT multiple times a day usually.

How dare you abuse your car like that!......haha just kidding. I'm the same way. I take care of the car very well with maintenance, washing, and babying. But I also at times use it the way it was meant to be. I do some WOT acceleration every now and then. And in the spring I will be taking it to the drag strip a few times. And maybe some auto cross. Trust me your not hurting the car. I actually believe that it's good for the engine to be run up to redline every now and again. The engines that just babied and never redlined are the ones that have oil consumption and carbon build up issues

Word brother! Ditto lol. I beat the sh** out of mine nearly every time I drive it i did not pay 40k to pamper it and not enjoy it.

I garage it, keep on my maintenance etc. I don't eat in it, non smoker, etc but I do street race it, and get my $'s worth.

My Camaro has about 1700 miles. I get on the throttle every time I drive it. I absolutely love it.

There's a difference between abuse and "operating to the limits of the vehicle's design" as a friend of mine would put it. As long as you're doing proper fluid changes, running the right gas and treating the overall system with respect, then running it hard isn't the same thing as abusing.

Mine see snow, ice, rain, beaches, road trips, drag races, HPDE, etc. It also gets washed/waxes, proper fluid changes, etc.

QFT. In fact--especially for DI motors--I wonder if putting around below 2,000 RPM for with mostly cold starts and short drives isn't harder on the engine than 10+ mile drives with the occasional WOT after reaching full operating temperature. Of course, that second option might be harder on the wallet/license depending on how responsible the driver is. And never on the way out of Cars and Coffee.

100+MPH on the test drive with 4 miles on it
First drag race was at 101 miles on it (9 passes)
Over 45 1/4 mile passes on it
Over 150 mph several times...
Just clicked 4500 miles this morning !

It's just a car...
