Removing front license plate bracket

Does anyone know how to properly remove the front license plate bracket on a 2016 SS?

Others and myself have found success drilling out the centers out of the rivets. You will have two holes remaining after removal.

MSMYYC has it you have to drill out the blind rivets then it comes off.

AlphaCamaro7, try bumperplugs. They are even color matched to your paint code.

Bumper Plugs or go buy some body plugs and hit 'em with gloss black paint. I took my off since it was purchased in Texas where two plates are required, and live in New Mexico where it's just rears. I noticed the holes for like 2 weeks now I know they are there and can only some times find them. My wife can't find them at all.

Is there no way to get to the back of the plate holder from inside the hood, or under the car? I haven't looked yet, but I'm torn on removing it. 2 req'd in CA, and I'm an atty, but I love the look of the empty, hungry grille. may go the removeable route I've seen on here, but didn't realize the removal of the dealer holder would leave holes. . .

Are the holes in the bumper or grill area?

It is pop riveted in place. Getting to the back of it wouldn't help if you could. The holes are in the grill.

I always specifically tell the dealerships NOT to attach the front plates before closing the deal.
I've been living in no-front plate states for the past 12 years.. can't stand the look with plates, especially with a sharp front like Vettes, Camaros, etc.

Using a decal

I just picked up my 50th anniversary car, and told the dealer NOT to install the frt plate bracket. This is a 2 plate Province so I will be placing a smaller customized decal of my frt plate on the verticle part of the bumper by the air intake.
