That's the explanation I'm sticking with. It's the most fun.

I just gotta say, after a week of ownership, this convertible is sublime. I drove to work yesterday at 7:30 AM with the top down. 65 and sunny outside. A light jacket, heated seat and steering wheel keeping me cozy. Had a pleasant little stoplight conversation with a fellow convertible owner, a lady with plates 2SSRS13 I think (anyone we know here? haha). The fact that you can converse with a passenger at freeway speeds is a very nice surprise.

Can't wait to get out of the breakin period so I can really let 'er rip! Also not engaging Rev Match until I get past 500 miles, just because I don't want it to zing the RPMs past 4K when I move the shifter to a lower gate.

Has anyone else noticed the stereo EQ profile change over between top-down and top-up modes? It's quite a difference. The top-down mode bass is very boomy and heavy/muddy. The stereo system is actually the only thing that has let me down in this car. I wonder if a straight-up speaker swap would help. Midrange can be downright shrill whether top-up or top-down. My previous car had such a nice clean, tight sounding stereo that I'm really missing. Of course, it was an aftermarket system, but it was nowhere near top-of-the-line. I just don't understand why factory stereos can't be better. I know this is not a good listening environment, and I'm far from being an audiophile. But I just don't get it. Sorry for the rant, I really do love the car!

car.

BTW, from page 52 of the manual:
"If the radio is on, the sound may be muted for a brief time due to a new audio system equalization being loaded."

There's also a different balance/fader setting that appears to load as well. More from the rear with the top is down verses up. I agree it's not the best, especially being Bose. Wish there were more settings available.

I read in the manual that the stereos setting would change when the top was down, but I havent noticed that there is a place to customize the eq when the top is up compared to when it is down. You would think they would give us the option to tweak the sound between the two profiles.

Im pleased with the stereo, my other car is a Nissan Titan with the fosgate system. This one sounds better overall. Could always be better, though The XM sounds much better than my wifes 14 Grand Cherokee but the Pandora app sounds muddied compared to XM / FM.

It amazes me how much different this color looks in the sun and in the shade, as well as from different angles.

Funny that is called an emergency trunk release, since my dealer told me that this lock is doing the opposite: completely lock the trunk, preventing it from being opened with the button on the driver's door.

Useful when handing the keys to a valet if you have something valuable in the trunk (you have to bring the small key with you and leave the remote with the valet, of course).

Can anyone with a vert help a brother out and take an exact measurement from the trunk floor to the base of the top with the top down? Also the width of the trunk at the base of the rear seats. I have a 2017 2SS vert on order and I'm looking to add a bit more low end bass to the Bose system. JL Audio has "micro subs" that are powered with an enclosure that measures 5 1/4 inches when placed on it's side and 34 inches wide. Wondering if that enclosure would fit under the top when it's down? Thanks!!!

I have a 2016 1SS and the mirrors are non-illuminated and are an after thought, freekin flimsy and junk.
Sorry I blew up.

I've had my 2SS vert for a couple days now, and I agree the Blose is disappointing. I suppose my standards will lower to meet my environment, but a couple amps and subs would do wonders I'm sure.

Cali, I'm in Carlsbad, if you're nearby, you're welcome to measure my trunk, but I'd guess you have a dealer nearby that would let you do it too. . .

I may have to get through family Xmas before buying myself any more toys. . .

I think the 2SS speakers loosen up a bit with some use. I'm still not thrilled, but after a few weeks the system seems to sound better than it did on day 1.

And the visors, yeah it's funny that the owners manual says they are illuminated and they pivot, but really I'd rather have the reasonably thin windshield header than fat visors. Granted, my top is down for the vast majority of my driving...

I'll try to remember to measure that space in the trunk tonight after work if no one else beats me to it...
